This so true. At SCG we work very hard to help match our families with their ideal puppy. Using our curriculum program we are able to assess all our puppies at 6 weeks.
We individually assess each puppy by examining their level of tenderheartedness, sight and sound sensitivity, confidence, assertiveness, dog friendliness, motivation and nerve resilience.
Assessing our puppies at the 6 week milestone also helps us recognise puppies who are suitable for therapy roles. Fast Track puppy training begins at 7 weeks and we also use this data to match puppies with their families.
This is why we don’t allow families to select a puppy at birth or younger than 6 weeks. Our assessment process is integral to our program and is the next step forward in matching our puppies to their families 🐾💕
