Crufts 2024

Clarke had his Crufts debut this year

We had lots of fun in the ring, he had 16 others in with him, no placing but but a great experience for him

I’m not great at standing either of the boys, so that might need more practice, but he behaved really well!

Thank you to many, many people for photos and videos from all angles (incase we don’t do it again!)

Crufts 2024

We had our first time in the ring at Crufts

Morse was a really good boy in his class of 20, as you can tell from the photos we had a really fun time in the ring!

No placing this time, but he had a great experience to build on

We (I) still need some standing practice, just in a split second it can change from a perfect stand to leaning back, and that is down to my positioning

Thank you many, many people for photos and videos from all angles of the ring (incase we don’t do it again!)

As the year draws to an end, and our shoot season is also coming to a close here’s a little round up:

Heath hasn’t worked at all to prevent injuries before the semi finals in a few weeks

Brân took alot of the workload but unfortunately now has a soft tissue injury to his shoulder, he’s so mighty in the field I’ve missed him for the last 6 weeks and won’t have him back this season for sure

Pye has helped out on some days, turning from dads peg dog to mums picking up dog, as we’ve got more used to each other, it’s been more pleasurable and easier, unfortunately he sustained a wrist injury while do***ng in, he may be able to make some more days before the end of the season but is currently on lead walks

Morse has enjoyed socialising at lunchtime and doing some river retrieve patrol, he’s very powerful and will be brilliant in the coming season I’m sure!

Clarke…. What can I say, a very immature 17 month old at the beginning of the season who was really unsure about picking birds has been thrust into full work mode due to cocker injuries. He has come on with every day and every new experience …. Some not always good ones, he’s had a serious zap from an electric fence, and also had birds stolen from under him while working across the river from me, he takes those things to heart and it’s clear on subsequent days that it’s knocked his confidence, so work on those to be done in the summer.
What a gem you’re turning into, very considered in your drive, but driven none the less.

Happy New year to everyone, more updates to come from the last of our shoot days and a new team member! 😉

So glad I weighed Morse at Skelmersdale Veterinary Practice this morning, then I know how much I’m lifting while I’m hoovering and trying not to inconvenience his time on the bed 🙄

10 months old 31.95kg

Still lean, just solidly built!

Fieldside Veterinary Physiotherapy with the patience of a saint!

Clarke’s first experience of a ‘hands over’ in this way

Staying lay down wasn’t the issue, staying from being upside down proved difficult!

Just getting used to the experience for when he will no doubt injure himself at some point in the future 🙄

Also good to see how muscles and joints are developing now that he is 17 months old

We have some news!

At one of our favourite shows in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 we competed in our Heelwork to Music Advanced class

As this was a premier show, there was a Crufts Qualifier on offer

Heath has had an elbow injury recently so training has been frustratingly on hold. We had to cram lots into the 14 days before the competition.

Anyway, we got our qualifier! So we’ll be one of the top 20 dogs in the country competing in January for a place in the Crufts final

This boy 💕
