This mare did a doozy on herself last month and got leg stuck over divider in trailer. Tore a large hole in her inside upper right hind leg 2 feet long and 18" wide (Dr Hulse could put her arm inside her up to elbow!) 😳 plus large hematoma right flank 2 feet x 18". Dr Hulse worked on her many hours... a few weeks later when she got back to her barn her wound still draining...a piece of trailer was stuck inside her body 2 feet deep which worked it's way down and Dr Durket removed. She is doing very well now and on her way to recovery!

Dr Hulse"s post- dental work on this 7 year old horse's teeth. A common mistake I see is over- floating. Be sure your horse's occlusal surface of their teeth is not dremeled flat! I see this commonly by lay floaters and your horse needs natural grooves in their occlusal surface to grind food 😀

Dr Hulse had an exciting morning last week with fellow equine veterinarians from around the world, rangers, and South African veterinarians in an anti-poaching event where two rhinos were darted and anesthetized to place tracking devices in their horns to monitor and protect them. Bonus to work with wildlife vets and learn all about safely anesthetizing, monitoring, and recovering rhinos!
