Multiple dogs? Here's a few reasons why they may benefit from walking separately-

1. One dog (or both!) is in training

It's hard to work on leash skills, reactivity, or fear when your hands and mind are full with double the dog!

2. Your dogs enjoy different walk styles

Maybe one dog is slow and steady while the other is go go go! Maybe one tires faster than the other! A lot of dogs don't have the same idea of what's a perfect walk.

3. Your dogs are at risk of codependency

If one dog is nervous, young, or new to the home, the chance that they'll suffer when alone if they never experience being without their k9 buddy in a safe and regular way is much higher

4. One dog is learning bad habits

When one dog is scared, reactive, or anxious another dog in the walk can learn through social cueing to react similarly with repetition

Make way for our newest CANINE GOOD CITIZEN- CHICHI the pomeranian!!!

He worked from the ground up, learning Sit, Down, and Stay in class with us! Now his even temprement and willingness to put up with bad weather have taken those well earned skills to the bank!

So proud of this team!

It's tiiiime! The long awaited SPRING group classes are open for registration!

Enjoy the sun, warm weather, and daylight that lasts and lasts by training at Barkpark West in their spacious yard with me! These classes are perfect for introducing your dog to the wonderful experience of learning to focus around other dogs!

Elementary Manners- For dogs 8 months and up with no dog aggression, this class teaches the basic cues and skills all dogs need! No jumping, no mouthing, no demand barking, as well as sit, down, stay, come, and loose leash!

AKC CGC- For dogs who will be 1 year or older at the end of 6 werks, standardized by the American kennel club, this class prepares dogs for the Canine good citizen test which is held after the class is completed. This exam includes 30-foot recalls, walking past other dogs, greetings strangers with no jumping, and much more!

Sensitive boy Soko continued his mat work, duration sit, and automatic turn-around when he sees a person turn a corner. And this week we added a turn when he rounds a corner and sees a person!
