I love this way of thinking. I find it’s often the exception rather than the norm.

Supposing that the worse may not happen is a brilliant cognitive intervention by A.A. Milne.

Ahhh the wisdom of Pooh. He never fails to enlighten us.

Try it. Your brain will follow along as you feed it new possibilities and replace the old habits. Not easy to do. Not quick to fix. But worth the try.

If you have a crawling baby, it’s important to recognize the difference between doggy kisses. Your dog might actually be trying to communicate “Please go away” rather than “I love you.”

Dog licks are often thought of as doggy kisses. But it’s actually something to take a step back and notice. And could sometimes be considered a “Kiss to Dismiss” (more on that below). These licks do trigger some questions that may seem a bit silly to ask in response.

Something like...
👉“Describe the licks for me. Fast, slow, and then does the dog move away?”
👉 “Is it a full tongue or a little bit?”
👉 “Full tongue lick or quick flick?”
👉“Is the child sitting and the dog approaches or vice versa? What level of mobility does the child have? Is food present or remnant?
