Another Academy product as Evie Wiles , just 9 years old, gains 2 nd place with her own Roxy on what was her very first run.
More from the Iwona Golab training and the motto here is
“ if at first you don’t succeed try try and try again.”
I don’t know who looks the most tired Rosie or Mia
Here’s a booster for all you beginners worried if you will ever get it right.
The answer is not every time but keep trying,as Rosie despite her training, experience and successes still shows the ability to make errors that you beginner pairings make.
A non elimination round would have put them in the Championship Final but even the best can have moments of the unexpected.
Here’s a snip of Tuesdays course running session .
1-5 tested everyone with most failing to get to the push round at 5.
Mia and Rosie handled with the good old fashioned lead out pivot and front cross which if trained and executed properly put the handler furthdown the course .
We are inundated with new beginner talent , particularly in Doncaster.
Here’s Katie and her cute Staffie doing a 5 jump sequence for the first time.
Yet another “academy “ handler joining the adults on Thursday evenings.
9 year old Jessica Keegans , already at Crufts this year, working with Stevie the Lurcher x Collie.
Jess is the only one he will run for.
Here is Lucy’s winning run.
DONT YOU JUST LOVE IT WHEN A PLAN COMES TOGETHER.
Today Mia and Moon made their ring debut.
Moon has been a very difficult dog to train , lacking focus , toy drive and motivation , going under the lowest of jumps and regularly shutting down completely, refusing even to move on the start line. Throughout this period however there was just that odd glimpse of genius which kept us working.
Judge for yourself the progress as Mia and Moon had the 4 th fastest time even allowing for the 3 second detour. Moving to full height next show and over to Evie to train the contacts while I do the weaves.
In a years time we could have one decent agility dog.
There’s a very fine line between success and failure in top level agility and whilst there is almost always a reason for a mistake this is a particularly tough call as Nova glances at the tunnel rather than the jump.
Laura and Novas otherwise stunning run at Olympia today
Always good to see handlers working away from official training times, particularly when they are so young.
Evie Wiles , just 9 years old , with young Roxy at the beginning of their adventure together.
Yet another youngster from our stable
11 year old Will Hinz with Twix preparing for his team GB trial in February running really well on a course that tested the best we have
