2023 was a very special year for me and my team in Ukraine. We pushed ourselves to the extreme, not just with the veterinary work and animal rescue, but in so many other ways, as we dealt with things none of us had managed before. 🌟

Rebuilding trailers, evacuating people, giving human first aid and dealing with grief and trauma of those who lost loved one, learning to function under missile attacks, traversing europe in a 50 ft rig, registering and coordinating a charity in a war zone, and so much more.💙

It has been lifechanging, affirming, and humbling. Now we are pleased to announce that this year we will be doing even more in Ukraine in conjunction with our friends at and
among many other amazing people, teams and supporters.

Last year we did 10 000 treatments, this year we are setting a goal of 15 000 🤩💪

I can't wait to continue sharing this journey with you, so watch this space 😃

Top team. Over the last 3 days we sterilised all of the intact dogs in Sirius Shelter, the biggest shelter in Ukraine. With 3500 dogs that have come from all over the country.

All these sweet, loving abandoned dogs from Ukraine. 🇺🇦

As they come through our temporary vet station, having been caught roaming the streets in various towns around the area and transported in via bus, I catch myself wondering about their history.

Im sure many were loving and loved pets once. Before the war separated so many people from their animals. They are just desperate for cuddles and love ❤️

Busy busy sterilising dogs on an undisclosed military base outside of Kyiv. The co.mander was pretty pleased and thanked us with a badge from his unit. Adding it to the collection!

We did the whole area. What a great feeling knowing yhere wont be any more unwanted pups. At least in this area. 💪🥰🐶

It has been another long week on the frontline in Ukriane. Every day the team has been close to missiles whistling overhead and landing close by.

The assault continues with full force in Kherson but we have continued. We will not be deterred, but power on to give more support and help more animals. 12 hour days have been the norm this week, but the demand is high.

Our focus this week was rescued animals. Those that have been taken in by the caring people who have stayed behind despite the risk. Also much loved pets who are an anchor and an emotional support to their owners. A safe companion to cuddle at night when the bombs drop, and a reason to get up in the morning.

This week we have
-sterilised
-vaccinated
-treated fleas and ticks
-xrayed
-stitched wounds
-helped crippled dogs walk again
-admitted emergency patients for intensive care
-fixed blocked bladders
-dealt with fractures
-done amputations

And this is just the start. Above all the team has been someone to turn to for animals and animal lovers in need of help.

Friday vibes! Greta is more tired than me I think! She has been an absolute superstar welcoming everyone to the clinic this week.

With hundreds of animals vaccinated, neutered , dewormed and treated for injuries this week, we have certainly been pulling some long hours in the south of Ukraine.

Tomorrow clinic will have a brief pause in workload and I will be attending AVMA conference . 🌟

I look forward to meeting anyone, who might be there, and discussing our international animal rescue work.

Todays work. This sweet boy came in for potential bladder blockage. Turned out to be a straight forward UTI 🙏🏼 yep, even cats in Ukraine love their urinary issues!

The A team, busy in Kherson. Today we have sterilised a good number of animals at the local shelter which will prevent many unwonted pregnancies. The animals are also now all vaccinated, dewormed and treated for parasites. 😍

Another day and more donations arriving for the animals of Ukraine. This time dog and cat food, leads, beds, and bowls as well as some crates for holding dogs whilst they recover from the surgery. 😍🐶🐱

These will be heading out with our mobile vet clinic early next month.

Cutie ‘Newt’ undergoing a general health check and ultrasound exam with the .vet ultrasound machine.

Did you know manatees do not have any front teeth for biting. They use the prehensile lips to grab and rip foliage.

They do have molars that grow throughout their life, erupting at the back and moving forwards as the front teeth fall out!

Over the next few days, I will be doing a recap of the Manatee captures, clinical checks and wild releases that have been occurring at with in the Amazon in Peru.

Most of its very cool and exciting, some of it is just me looking ridiculous in a poncho.

So pleased to finally introduce my newest *ahem* "pets".
Six little wolf puppies rescued in conjunction with the Garden Route Wolf Sanctuary and brought to in Zimbabwe to grow and thrive in safety.
Do far they have eaten my shoes, curtains and large chunks of the concrete living room floor. They howl at 6am, ways find dirt to walk through and are general mayhem, but man I'm in love!
