The snap peas are starting to come in!
Peas are a veggie that quickly get out of control once it’s going full swing and we’re ready for it! Looking forward to having these by the bag-full.

Old school Encinitas folks might remember the days when there were groves instead of roads.

The Blodgett homestead used to be an avocado orchard and still has multiple trees from way back when!
November marks the beginning of Fuerte avocado season. 🤗 they are THE BEST avocados, with a wonderfully smooth and rich texture and flavor. Their skins are thin and delicate so they don’t transport well, which means if you do find them in a grocery store they’ll be the avocados packaged in plastic.
If you live locally in or and want to buy a couple of home-grown avocados, keep an eye out for the next pop-up farm stand or shoot me a message to stop by and pick some up!

These are pieces of broken glass from after being tumbled with a coarse grit sand. I can’t wait to see what they will look like after another couple of tumblings 😍

I love turning things that would’ve been thrown away into something worth saving.

When repairs have to happen on a furnace, the furnace is turned off and the glass inside cools. The unrefined remains turn into pretty remarkable looking garden art!

This is a part of the Homestead line that I’m very excited about, as it combines some of the things I’m truly passionate about, sustainability, gardening and art. I will be parts of high-end pieces that don’t get used for the final product.

These are parts of a large piece for an art glass light installation. When a light piece gets made it’s closed off and one end gets opened up by cutting it open to insert the light fixture.

These succulent pots are created out of the end that doesn’t typically get used! The cut end was sanded down to create a now beautiful and finished second piece. @ Blodgett Glass

I’m very excited to be doing a homestead line with that incorporates his beautiful glass with my love for nature
Utilizing his classic ornament design, he perfectly executed my vision of a glass piece for living ornaments! They can go from your tree to your window to be enjoyed year round. I hope you guys love them as much as me!

*these are about 3inches in diameter, perfect size to hang on a Christmas tree🎄 we will be experimenting with different colors and sizes as well,
