Cuballing is a small country town and as such everything is closed on Sunday ☹️

The amazing guys at Cuballing Road House are going to supply us with their Ice trailer to ensure we can provide Ice for those that use it post cross country.

Make sure you add it to your entry on Event Secretary!

Attention all grounds users!

The cross country course is now closed until after our event.

As per the EA rules the course must be closed for 28 days prior to the event. There will also be ongoing works done on the grounds over the coming weeks to prepare for the event, so it will also be unsafe to ride on the cross country course.

Calling all members and volunteers!

We need everyone’s help to make our grounds look fantastic for the One Day Event!

Running this event allows us to pay our overheads and keep our membership fees low. It also helps to put us on the equestrian map and share our grounds with the rest of the WA equestrian community.
Even if you can only spare an hour to help it is greatly appreciated.

A BBQ lunch will be provided to all who help!

Date: 10th of June
Time: from 9am onwards
What to bring:
Rakes, shovels gloves etc to remove weeds. Whipper snipper to tidy around jumps and posts. If your feeling really generous we would love a couple of ride on mowers for the the cross country course!

Are you ready to “build your core” with Katrin this weekend at Dryandra Equestrian?

Katrin is heading to Cuballing this weekend for a clinic. She works on strength and position with the rider and uses poles to stretch and strengthen the horses to produce strong partnerships. She caters for all levels from green horses and riders to experienced dressage divas!

She will be back again a little later in the year, so pop down and watch a few lessons so you know what you are getting in to when you come along next time!

Go Team Dryandra!!!
What a great weekend of horses and friends at Murray Eventing Inc CCN!
4 members competed in the Eva80 sponsored by Oakford Stockfeeds and all ladies had successful runs….

Joy took out 1st place with the lovely Oscar in their first outing of the year, finishing on a stellar dressage score followed up with a “super run” cross country!

Lear came in 5th and also took out the Adult rider prize for 80cm, after she found George’s next gear on cross country and coming home clear with no time penalties! She also received her best dressage result to date but unfortunately got a couple time penalties in show jumping!

Chloe and Gooloo started off with a nice dressage test to land in 8th place, which she retained throughout the competition with super showjumping and cross country!

Sarah (me) had the first Eventing start with lease horse Oliver (owned by Jackie Sept). The dressage was not great, although improved from previous tests, putting them in last place. However they followed it up with a super showjump round and a solid cross country effort, just a little slow, to climb from 26th to 22nd.

Most importantly we all supported each other, helped each other and had a couple drinks together to make the overall weekend so enjoyable. It’s so exciting and encouraging to have such amazing support and friends to compete along side of. Even though we were “competing against” each other, we all wished to other to excel and do our absolute best!

What a great team Team Dryandra is becoming! I can’t wait for more of you to join us!

Saturdays are for Cross Country!

Emily and Clarence will be attacking 3* cross country course Saturday morning 11am Adelaide time.

Emily is currently sitting in a very respectable 12th place on a dressage score of 33.3!

Now the moment you have all been waiting for… drum roll please…

Please welcome our new club President, Amy!

Amy has been the secretary for a few years now and has worked hard in that role. So she was the natural choice when someone new was needed to fill this important role. Amy has been dedicated to DREA for a few years now, even making the 6 hour round trip on many occasions to help at busy bees or to prepare for our events.

Amy’s goals of this year is to ride more and work less so she get her beautiful Floss out to some competitions.

Thanks for taking on this mammoth role Amy! We are so grateful to have you!

Philippa Collier Eventing Clinic 25th/26th March

Philippa is a very encouraging level 2 general coach who is passionate about eventing! Philippa teaches all ages and levels from poles up to the star heights in a safe, fun inclusive way. Philippa herself competed at FEI level but now enjoys competing at the lower levels and supporting her students at competitions. I have been one of those lucky students at many events with Philippa on the side line cheering me on.

So… If you are wanting to come and give eventing a go or if this clinic sounds right up your alley, keep an eye out for the clinic forms which will be sent out via email or in the forms tab at the top of this page soon!

Now let’s make a big welcome to our next 2023 committee member… Chloe!

Chloe has been a long time member and has filled one of the ordinary committee member positions. We are happy to have her on board as it is so important to have new blood getting involved at this level.

Chloe’s goals for this year are to get out to some competitions with her young horses after a quiet year last year… so keep an eye out for the magpie horse going around at events near you!

Another new addition to our hard working committee is the lovely Olivia!

Olivia has agreed to take on the massive role of Canteen Coordinator as well as an ordinary committee role.

We are looking forward to tasting her cooking and seeing what menu items she will bringing to our events.

If you fancy staying warm and dry while watching horses at any of our fundraising competitions, Olivia would love to have you help out in the kitchen.

Next cab off the ranks for our meet the committee 2023 series is the enthusiastic Kerri-Ann.

Kerri-Ann has stepped up to take on the massive role as secretary this year while still keeping the role of Adult Rider rally coordinator. Her goal for this year is to concentrate on having fun with her horses both in and out of the saddle.

Kerri is also organising the upcoming Encouragement Hack on Saturday 29th of April. Entries and information can be found on Global Entries Online.

We love it when Liesl comes to visit but I think we can all agree our bodies feel the effects of her coaching for at least a few days.

Ahead of this weekends Liesl Wilding clinic we would like to introduce you all to our next committee member the amazing Adele!
Adele is continuing her role as Dressage Clinic Coordinator and also filling one of those vital committee member roles.
This year Adele is hoping to put her “big girl” pants on and get to some competitions with a healthy horse… also no vet bills!

As we welcome in the start for the season for 2023 we also welcome in our committee for this year. So I would like to introduce you all to the team behind the club! First cab off the ranks is the one and only Joy Gray otherwise known as mumma Joy. This year joy has taken a step back from Chair for grandma duties and to let the “young ones” have a go… she has graciously accepted the role of Deputy Chair as we couldn’t let her go to far away! 2023 at Dryandra Regional Equestrian association is now well underway. We are exciting for the next clinic on our calandra with the one and only Liesl Wilding on the 25th/26th of Feb. Liesl is a level 2 dressage coach that caters to riders and horses of all levels. Have you got your forms in? Spots are filling fast!

Dryandra Equestrian was well represented at Equestrian WA’s 2022 Awards night held at Optus Stadium on Friday, 3 February 2023.

DREA was nominated for Club of the Year and Event of the Year for Dryandra CCI.

Committee member, Lear Edwards, was nominated for Volunteer of the Year and the Colin Dunham Award.

Committee member Emily Early was the winner of the Sheila Cook Award, presented to a rider displaying the ability, dedication and sporting spirit likely to take them to the highest level of competition. Their willingness to contribute to the sport of eventing is also taken into account.

Congratulations to all the nominees, well deserving winners and to EWA for organizing such a fantastic night.

January Adult Rider Day - Sunday 22nd

Kerry will be at the grounds on Sunday from 11am. If anyone wants to join her please come along.

Usual fees apply for adult riders.

We can either work at the grounds on some flat work or head out for a trail ride (or both). Will depend on what you want to do and who comes along.

Why not join in for some fun with your equine friend.
