I feel bad I’ve not been posting about my reptiles. I just had some traumatic things happen with them and it’s been hard to post. Everyone is doing well now and I’ve not had issues in months but the anxiety of keeping them is hard sometimes. I think it’s only fair to be transparent when you’re struggling with them ❤️

So I have some sad news. I think it’s important to share when things like this happen though. One of my snakes has escaped and has been missing for a few days. No matter how long you’ve been keeping and how safe you think you are accidents happen. I’ll keep everyone updated if I find her. I’m really hoping she will come out when I feed on Sunday. I have her stuff around the reptile room hoping she will go to a familiar smell 😔 I’m heartbroken at the thought of my mistake being the reason she could potentially be lost or pass. Of course she had to be one of my favorites too.

Do people not realize that you can have completely different opinions on how to keep animals and still be friends? As long as he animal is happy healthy and functioning I don’t care how you keep. Rack systems, bioactive, naturalistic, extremely sterile I support everyone in the hobby to follow their dreams. Do I keep most of my animals bioactive with access to UVB? Yes. Do I think people who keep in racks that are appropriately sized and kept clean are wrong or bad? No. There’s multiple right ways to do something. Be kind to each other. Have open discussions, spread education. Don’t act like a know it all 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🙃

Everyone give a very special welcome to my new trio of African Fat Tails! We have 2 girls and 1 boy. They will go into quarantine for a month then be moved to their permanent homes in the reptile room with everyone else. Can’t get over how stinking CUTE they are ♥️♥️♥️♥️ special thanks to Color Me Exotics for trusting me with these guys

I’m so excited to expand and get some more hognose. I’m planning on setting up something different and going to see if I can create a tub like system with proper sized enclosure space, uvb, and basking areas. I have some ideas of how to make it work. If my idea works I can expand my breeding programs quite a bit. ✨♥️ follow for updates and progress

May 19th Sunkist laid!! 16 fertile, 23 total eggs. Should hatch out around July 13th or so. We shall see if she decides to double clutch for us again this year.

Adonis is one of the prettiest snakes I own. He was begging to be let out last night. I opened his cage to fill up his water and he just crawled right into my arms. Also had a perfect fresh shed for me. This is usually an indicator corn snakes would be ready to breed. During the winter North American snakes will go into a brumation. Then wake up around this time of year shed, breed then eat! A lot of breeders will replicate this process in captivity to stimulate breeding. If I had an adult female corn snake I would probably be breeding this year but sadly I’ve not found the right girlfriend for this guy yet! Next year buddy! ♥️😂

Something that was shocking to me when I got my first few frogs is how much personality they have. They are always wanting to interact and honestly are the funniest animals I own. I really want to get more kinds of frogs it’s just hard to decide what species.

Doesn’t get much cuter then a leopard gecko 😌 sometimes I get tempted to get into breeding these guys but there’s already so many amazing people out there doing good work. Sometimes deciding on what to breed is hard especially when you love a specific animal. However responsible breeding comes with knowing when there’s a time and place. Right now there’s hundreds of thousands of leopard geckos in the pet trade. Remember to always research where your getting your animals from! Stay away from chain pet stores when you can.
