🤪🤣SILLY SATURDAY 🤣🤪

It's Saturday everybody! We are so excited to share some adorable photos of our rescue animals just being SILLY!

Rescue can often feel so serious, with the day to day operations. But truth is, there are so many adorable moments, silly cats, and just heartwarming photos that get shared between staff! So, we want to include you too!

Kitten Lotus suckling on big boy Gromit! Sweet kitten Lotus was new to the cat room and Gromit was happy to cuddle and comfort Lotus. They couldn't stop purring, it was SO CUTE!

Our long stay old lady Faye acting like a mermaid. This sweet old girl would love a couch of her own to spend the rest of her days. She is such a love and deserves the world!

💲FINANCE FRIDAY💲

In an effort to lead this year in 100% transparency, we want to be upfront on the realistic cost that comes with running a private animal shelter. This is not an easy field, and when I say we are stressed about finances about 99.9% of the time, we mean it!

On average we spend about $550 per pet that we rescue, but our adoption fee average is only about $250. That is a MASSIVE deficit to be taking on when take on another animal!

While it is so easy to donate to the urgent cases, and be pulled into the emotions of saving the sad sick cat or puppy, the funds raised will just go to that animal. Which is amazing, and so many animals have been saved through their fundraisers. And for that we will be so thankful for.

BUT.

Every animal we rescue deserves a fundraiser. But the reality is, if we posted a fundraiser for every animal that walked in the door, you would all probably unfollow us!

When you donate outside of special circumstance fundraisers, you are supporting what we do in our facility every day. You're purchasing a bottle of antibiotics for a very sick litter of neonate kittens. You're purchasing a flea treatment for kittens overrun with fleas. You're buying a bag of high quality food for an emaciated mama dog. You're aiding in keeping the heat on in our building, keeping the rescues warm and safe. Your dollar goes so far when you become a routine donor outside of emergencies.

We love each and every one of you guys who follow us and support us on a regular. You are the reason why we are still here today.

💕 Thankful Thursday 💕

As we start to share more of the rescue with those who follow us, we thought it would only be right sharing a THANKFUL THURSDAY highlight. In this field of work it can often feel overwhelming and defeating. The heartbreak can be deep, and the exhaustion is REAL. But it is important to remain thankful in everything we do.

Personally we can't think of anyone better to be highlighted for our first Thankful Thursday post than our amazing Shelter Manager, Kassie Wild.

To know her is to love her. She is the smiling face you see when you come into the rescue. She is the healing hands of so many of our babies, and we truly wouldn't be who we are without this incredible woman.

When Kassie isn't providing life-saving care to animals in need, she is a wife and super-human raising 4 incredible boys at home.

Kassie! We love you!

🐶Tail Waggin’ Thursday🐶

Today's spotlight is TAIL WAGGIN THURSDAY, where we get to spotlight one of our amazing dogs that we have up for adoption!

Our very first spotlight is going to be miss Zoe! Sweet Zoe came from a rescue partner out of Texas where she was patiently waiting her turn at a forever family.

Here are some things you should know about sweet Zoe from her previous foster family.

"Zoe is such a sweet loving girl, she is super energetic and crazy, but boy does she LOVE. She is everything her breed makes out to be. Loving, loyal, protective, and energetic. We found her in the rainy streets looking for shelter, ever since we have had her she's been by my side like glue. She loves spending every minute with people, she can be very gentle when it is time for a cuddle.

We have loved fostering her crazy self, if we could keep her we of course would. There are so many dogs in Texas needing rescue that keeping her would mean we couldn't help more. I write this because I always hope she will find the best family and I want whoever adopter her to know she truly is a good sweet girl. Please give this sweet girl time, and we promise she will show you who she is."

In addition to WHISKER WEDNESDAY we wanted to start the trend of including WANT WEDNESDAY, bi-monthly, to help include all our followers in what the rescue needs on a weekly basis!

The rescue uses a TON of supplies to just run the day to day operations. It might be shocking to hear that we spent close $41,000 on supplies in 2024 to keep the rescue up and running. Supplies we weekly order include:

🐱TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY!🐱

Everybody meet London! This beautiful girl is our first featured kitty of Transformation Tuesday, as she is the kitty who has been at the rescue the longest!

Sweet London was rescued from a hoarding case of 54 cats in a hotel room in 2023.

It was one of the most heartbreaking cases that we had to work on. When London got to us she was skinny, reserved, and sickly.

However, today London is a sweet little angel who loves to cuddle and play. She is good with everyone and would make a great family cat!

What a fun day today is! It's Happy Tails Tuesday!

Everyone meet sweet MAX! This sweet boy was rescued from California when he was just a little guy! When he was rescued he was at risk of euthanasia, but look at this cute boy now! He was adopted in August of 2024!

"We adopted Max on 8/11/24. He has absolutely thrived since coming home with us. He is the sweetest most gentle dog. He is best friends with our 2 year old son, Mikey. They are inseparable and follow each other everywhere. Max enjoys frequent walks, exploring the backyard, and lots of cuddles. He is a big boy, but he thinks he is a lap dog!
