Frank may have a new home soon! I don't want to jinx it but someone from National Geographic saw his post! I actually contacted somebody about an RV that I wanted to buy and shared Frank's story with them so they would have a bit of a timeline of when I would be arriving to the states. The person with the RV ended up sharing his adoption page on a Facebook group in LA. Then, I was contacted today by a sweet gentleman that is pretty serious about adding Frank to thier beautiful family. It's a big decision so they still need to think it over, but if it all turns out Frank could be living on a farm with seven and a half acres and three siblings! That's exactly what I have been envisioning for him. His potential adopter sent me a bunch of pictures of thier other dogs. They appear to be spoiled and loved. I hope this works out for Frank. What a great ending to his story that would be!
Next week he will be getting all of his vaccinations. There's not a vet in San Pedro that is U.S. certified so I will have to pay a vet from the larger towns across the lake to come over. Once he gets his vaccinations, he will have to wait 28 days before he can fly.
The hotel I'm staying has banished Frank but I am going to have a serious conversation with them tomorrow to allow me to let him in at night. I think if I put some extra money in their hands they will give in. Frank already looks so much better then when he first started following me around. He was smelly, covered in fleas and scabs from scratching, and his fur was stained with dirt. He's been on flea medication for 2 weeks now so his fleas are gone and his scabs Have healed. His fur has already grown in and I was able to give him a bath today finally. I didn't want to give him a bath before because I thought the shampoo and be too painful with his raw skin.
His first bath went really well actually. I took him to the lake and got in the water with him. He was a little resistant at first but then he just stood there and let me scrub him from head to tail. He definitely needs another bath or two but it was a good start.
He's going to look so great by the time we get to the states and place him with his new family
