The purpose of "GRACE and GRIT: Health and Healing Thru Horse-Human Partnerships" is to provide a science- and evidence-based stepwise program for horse lovers to improve the quality of life for domesticated horses. Grace and Grit provides equine enthusiasts access to a multi-faceted education encompassing the true nature and needs of horses. Our program provides the tools that allow both horses a

nd people to achieve the highest quality of a thriving life that includes good health, safety, healthy relationships, effective communication, contentment, and happiness. Students, employees, and clients are empowered through an eclectic approach which involves acquiring, applying, and reflection on skills, to develop mindsets focused on recognizing all opportunities for growth while building grit. The honest feedback provided by our horses directs people safely on the rewarding journey that encourages self-regulation and decision-making skills, founded in moral and ethical principles that help everyone to develop self-esteem and thrive. Grace and Grit: Health and Healing Thru Horse-Human Partnerships offers the opportunity for all participants to experience the genuine enjoyment, empowerment, and boost to mental health that comes with putting the needs of another first. We're so proud of how this "All-Boy" kiddo has been developing his ability to connect with the animals in a way that keeps everyone feeling safe, comfortable, and liking being with people.

He's pretty amazing; he can be running around the barn, throwing balls, playing on the scooters, or making Tik-Tok videos with the stick horses, THEN he sees an animal he wants to be with.

He slows everything down and makes eyeball-to-eyeball contact with the animal of his choice. When he 'feels' like it's right, he'll start petting, and again, when the time is right, he goes in for the hug. And sometimes even a kiss.

Even as adults, we often just want our animal friends to go right to OUR end game, with no prep.

It's amazing how 4-year-old Walker has figured out how to get exactly what he wants. In a way that's beneficial to all participants. Grateful to have people here who keep our residents loving people and trusting their home as their 'safe-place'.

Not trivial accomplishments. We're so proud of him.

LOL, this self-set up thing is definitely becoming a trend.

Rocket and Dino demonstrate this habit that all everyone is developing. As we all practice communicating with our horses bodies and feet, I'm guessing they're figuring that we're going to ask anyway, so they just choose to square up.

Perhaps it's the result of the positive recognition/acknowledgement they get when they do it?

We need to remember to acknowledge all the other quiet, subtle good stuff they do too. ❤️

We love it.

Freya loves meeting and greeting our new Grace and Gritters and showing them around the barn while introducing them to the residents.

Freya also loves hugging, and that sure can't be a bad thing (says Dolly).

This defies a simple explanation. Just know that there is always something unexpected AND unexplainable happening.

It has helped me become more resilient and to more able to see the opportunities in unplanned events.

And laugh. It has helped to laugh frequently.
