Did you know that we are at an all time low in adoptions right now? We have not seen a slump like this since 2017 and it is even worse this year! We average a number of 15 adoptions throughout the month of October alone, this year we only had 6 adoptions last month. Are there just too many cats in the city and not enough adopters? We have many beautiful, healthy cats waiting for their forever homes but no adoption applications coming in. Many people are only looking for Siamese kittens right now. We have adult cats and domestic kittens who would make wonderful companions and are also looking for homes. We have cats waiting to be spayed/neutered, and they will then be available for adoption but we need space for them in the shelter or foster homes. Did you know that we receive approximately 5 emails a day to take in cats? Many of these cats are being relinquished by their families for various reasons, others are cats that have been outside for months but now that it is getting colder people are begging for us to take them in.

We have our Christmas Event next Sunday November 12th at the Archwood Community Centre from 1130 – 330, Our Wine N Dine Raffle (if you have not received your tickets they will be emailed soon) & our Purdys Chocolate Fundraiser. We will also be having a Holiday Online Auction the beginning of December.

She has the longest legs and walks like a total princess. We named her Cleo because she acts like a queen! But a sweet queen because she loves her snuggles!. She is the ultimate sweetheart and we hope she will find her furever home soon! Cleo is fully vetted and spayed already!

Bear has the most beautiful markings and one of the sweetest dispositions! He plays hard but he also loves to cuddle. When he's picked up, he doesn't mind being held belly up as it means he gets belly rubs. He doesn't really meow much, instead he sounds like he's rolling his R's as a meow. It's super cute to hear! He gets along with all our cats and at the end of the day, looks forward to snuggling up to you as he purrs himself to sleep.

Toby came into care when his elderly owner passed away. He came in with another senior cat that he was very bonded with. Unfortunately, the cat became quite ill and passed away last winter. Toby is a very shy cat who blossomed in his foster care with the help of other calm cats. He will need a quiet home with an experienced cat owner with no children or dogs. The home must have at least one other calm cat who can help him come out of his shell when in his new home.

Toby enjoys pets and chin scratches. He should have a covered litter box as he will sometimes p*e vertically over the box. He likes to play, especially with the teasing wand.

This sweet and affectionate came into our care, when we were contacted to take her as she was at risk of a cull. Shadow can be shy at first but warms up after a couple of days.

Shadow loves people and would do well in most homes. She gets along well with other cats and with cat savvy dogs. She has not met kids yet. She would do well in a home with other calm pets or as a solo cat.

I'm the smallest of my litter and because I got the 'short end of the placenta' so to speak, I benefitted from another week or so with my birth mommy. She is teaching me to stop leaching off her milk. I can't really help it because my siblings are all piling on top of me and I'm kind of confused why I'm not overpowering them with my fierce determination....apparently it has something to do with body weight? I like to follow my foster mom around and attempt to meow to alert her that I require actual human food. Mostly it comes out as a barely audible 'eek' .what's up with my voice? Anyway, she keeps putting out kitten kibble and mushy can food but I totally go bonkers for ground chicken and actual chicken meat. She should know this by now. I may be small but I am mighty! I looooove chasing around and wrestling with my siblings and my mom. I am apparently ridiculously adorable? Foster mom keeps saying I will be the new social media 'Grumpy Cat' except I'll be 'Permanently Concerned Looking Cat' or something like that.

Meet Boba! He is a wonderful kitten. He is curious, energetic, funny, and very playful! He also loves to cuddle with you and snuggle in the bed. Supervising the cleaning of the litter box is one of his curious traits.

He is a sweet & talkative boy who will remind you to feed him if you are late for dinner time. He gets along well with other cats and would do best in a home with a friend to play with. He has not met dogs or kids yet.

STILL WAITING FOR THEIR FOREVER HOMES. PLEASE SHARE AND HELP GET THE WORD OUT. This great group of adoptables can all be met onsite at our shelter in Windsor Park during open hours at 38 Barberry Road. Pictured at the top are bonded pair Linguine and Macaroni, they are looking for a home together.. In the middle are bonded pair Pumpkin and Darling also looking for a home together. On the bottom are longer term adoptables Gidget and Azura, though they aren't a bonded pair they have become good friends in the shelter and would enjoy a home together but can also be adopted separately. These kitties have all been in the shelter and care for 4 months or longer and are more than ready to find their forever homes. Could it be you? New adoptable alert! Meet Shakira!! ✨

Shakira is the sweetest 4 year old siamese cross who been hanging out with us for a couple of weeks now! Shakira is a three legged cutie but she mortars around just fine on her three legs and loves to follow staff around the store and meow for attention! 🥰

Shakira also LOVES her food and is on a very strict raw diet with an added probiotic once a day to control her IBS. When on this diet she feels her best and doesn’t have any digestion or tummy troubles! Did we mention she is also a cuddle bug? This sweet girl will take all the attention you give her! 💖🐱
