Time to introduce Eden🌸 she's here as her breeders realised she was fading and took her to the vets. The vets reached out as she wasn't improving. After seeing Eden I realised just how poorly she was. She was doing the "death cry" which is when fading puppies and kittens make desperate cries, often increasing as death approaches. Despite having the energy to cry for help, she had minimal reflexes, was dehydrated and was basically starving (she had lost 20% of her bodyweight since being born). She still has a respiratory infection, something many orphans arrive with due to being bottle fed when they are too weak to feed. Tube feeding, plasma infusions, incubator and antibiotics has saved her so far. She's still got a way to go but has made so many improvements 🥰
Merry Christmas animal lovers! Wishing you all a lovely, cosy Christmas 🎄 We have taken on 3 Many Tears Animal Rescue girlies to foster. This Chihuahua is one of the lucky ones who doesn't have to stay in kennels this Christmas 💔 she has an old broken jaw and a busted leg which she will be having surgery for in the new year.
This is the best part of my job 100%. Owners who were absolutely heartbroken a month ago now have a somewhat happy ending, Reggie is going home. Reggie's mum can't be brought back, but a part of her now lives on through Reggie 🥲
Louie and Ginny sharing their bed with Reggie 🥲 I have the best Chihuahua's! They love puppies and kittens when they're small and vulnerable.
Nail clipping- Each foot clipped gets a biscuit, that's the method 😅 On a serious note, if a dog or cat has a bad experience getting their nails clipped (such as if the quick gets clipped) this can understandably make them fearful so care must be taken to make it a positive and calm experience. I saw a dog last week that had to be seen as emergency because the owners had clipped the dog's quick and couldn't stop the bleeding. A haemostatic swab with a light bandage controlled the bleed and the owner learned a valuable lesson in nail clipping and first aid!
Looking after Diva the wonderful Sheltie, she's been a dream to care for and would you believe she's nearly 14?! Still loving running on the beach 🥰
Chloe enjoyed an afternoon with her best friend Tango. She's definitely going to need a home with a buddy. She's had no applications yet, I have hope she will find the right home when it's meant to be ❤
How lovely is this? Bonnie is a pup I reared back in October along with her brother Barry and foster friend Chloe the cleft pup. She's only 4 months old and look what her owner has achieved with her already 🥰
