I'm feeling better. I am also getting really good at holding my anti-biotic pill in my mouth and spitting it out when Dad is not looking.

I'm home from surgery but in a lot of pain. Also, I threw up after my first meal. Dad was warned that this was common post-surgery. Dad is giving me horrible-tasting medicine. The problem is, If my medicine did not make it down my absorbed dosage is unknown and Dad has to wait until the next 8-hour interval to give me more.

Last week my left eye really hurt so Dad took me to the vet and the vet said that I had glaucoma (too much pressure) in my left eye. The reading was 99 in my left eye vs 16 (normal) in my right eye. We then got a referral to EWU Vet School Eye Clinic where they did an ultra-sound and determined that my left eye's retina was detached so I'm blind in my left eye. The recommendation is that they remove the eye to eliminate the source of pain. They are going to do a biopsy to try to determine what happened and whether the problem could manifest in my right eye as well. I am scheduled for surgery on Thursday morning 8/21/22. I am a 15+ year old dog with failing kidneys so any surgery is always a risk. Keep me in your thoughts, today, and hopefully, everything will go fine and I will recover from surgery without any complications.

I got to visit Spokane County's only dog park, The Patricia Simonet Laughing Dog Park. Dad seemed obsessed with getting a photo that had me, the sign, and the Dog Tesla in the frame.

My name is Shasta. I lived with a family for 12 years and then they surrendered me to the Spokane Humane Society. The Humane Society put me in the PetSmart store and I have lived there in a noisy kennel with lots of other dogs for the past 3 weeks. Bob was lonely since both of his dogs died recently so he decided to adopt me. Bob also thinks that at the age of 13, many people would not want to adopt me because I am a senior dog, but Bob apparently is a glutton for punishment and has a soft spot for senior dogs. I'm in pretty good shape for 13 but I am being treated for arthritis. The vet prescribed this terrible-tasting kibble but I think Bob may end up feeding me human-grade meat with my vitamins because Bob thinks commercial dog foods (even prescription diets are crap.)
