This past month I finally got to do what I like best! This cute weanling was brought in to get some kindergarten training. He was unsure of almost everything! We spent every day twice sometimes 3 times a day or more, just working on being friends. He now comes up to you for treats, loads, blankets, picks up all 4 feet and has the beginning stages of lunging started. He will be getting his feet trimmed tomorrow for the first time too! I love working with babies and enjoy all their progress!

I will have room for another baby starting December if anyone is interested!

We have been quiet on here the past few months as we have been busy doing many upgrades to our little acreage! Water has been trenched to the north side of the acreage to eliminate hauling water all year! Upgraded a bunch of our fences and adding gates this weekend and we now have our very own outdoor arena! However the best part of it all will come May/June with the delivery of our barn! So excited!

A little about K & J Acres....
About 5 years ago Kirby and Jim Mears together with their children Allyson and Matthew bought their first home together which is located on the edge of the hamlet of Ranfurly which is about 20 min east of Vegreville along Hwy 16. Kirby has had a long life dream of raising and training horses and after working alongside great horse people and training her own horses she has decided to take on a few to the public. We also offer boarding services which are full at the moment. We believe in strong ground work foundations in young horses which set up horses to be comfortable and willing partners under saddle.
