The Ten Commandments of Dog Ownership

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you will be very hard and painful for me. Remember that before you adopt me.
2. Give me time to understand what you want from me. Please be patient with me.
3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well being.
4. Do not be angry with me for long, and do not lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends and your entertainment. I only have you!
5. Talk to me, even if I do not understand your words, I understand your voice when it is speaking to me. You only have to look at my tail!
6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it!
7. Before you hit me, remember that I have teeth that could crush the bones in your hand, but I choose not to bite you. (DON'T HIT YOUR DOG!)
8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I am in pain or sick, or my heart might be getting weak and I cannot tell you.
9. Take care of me when I get old, you too will grow old someday.
10. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say, “I can’t bear to watch it” or, “let it happen in my absence.” Everything is easier for me if you are there.

Ah, I can't get enough of her! Bud didn't want to come out because he was still sleepy, but Lucy here couldn't refuse a yogurt drop and dried papaya. Don't mind my finger. I was trying to unhook her nail from the fabric. They both need a nail trim soon.

Sadie is the first dog to try out one of my new medium bandanas! This one is pure cotton and has a long ribbon that is simply tied around her neck. Finally got some business cards made! I'm happy with what this has become and I'm even more excited for what is to come!
I really wish Molly would've been here to see this and go through this with me, but she is the main reason why I did this. To help pets and their owners, along with creating pet safe products for them.
Next step: BANDANAS!!!!

UPDATE #2: Ezzi is still looking for her home! Unfortunately rhe meet and greet didn't go as well.

I'm helping someone rehome this pretty girl.

Meet Ezzi (Esmerelda). She is a 1 year old German Shepherd/Pit Bull mix that is full of lots of love and energy! She is up to date on shots and will come with her records. As of this date, she is not spayed. She has no behavioral issues. She's just really hyped up in energy and will get into a little puppy mischief if no one is around to give her love and attention. The owner is looking for someone that can give her a lot of space to run around in along with give her lots of love and attention. No rehoming fee. Located in Muskegon, MI.

Hello! I'm on the lookout for old jeans that can be reused!
If you have anything denim that you need to get rid of, please send them my way! They are great for making dog toys and they are going to be used as a safe stuffing alternative in my future pet beds to come! If anyone is looking to donate some denim, please message me and we can work something out!

Howling Timbers is home to just over 40 wolfdogs and misrepresented dog crosses. Our wolfdogs range from Low Content to High Content. We are home to several "dogs" that were improperly labeled as wolfdogs. To save their lives from euthansia, we agreed to take them in. Many wolfdog sanctuaries require their wolfdogs to be mid or high content, not nearly as many will take low or misrep animals.

Howling Timbers is in need of YOUR help. Despite the accusations and legal proceedings, the animals are still here and they are still being taken care of, fed, and socialized on a daily basis. A very small team of dedicated volunteers is currently caring for sanctuary animals, including two that live on site. The owners have been desperately trying to divide their time between caring for their elderly parents and the sanctuary as well.

Our volunteers are not paid, except in the love and adoration these animals give back to them. Being a nonprofit 501 c 3 organization we are fully tax deductible if you would like to donate, however that also means we have very tiny margin for profit. This sanctuary is able to exist because of the community support which comes from all over the world.

Today, I am asking for your help on behalf of the sanctuary. We need food, for the livestock. This includes Sweet Feed (cattle, goat, sheep), Purina Senior Feed, or similar (4 intake horses only), Grass Hay or similar (including cattle quality), as well as assorted Fly Sprays and Mineral Blocks.

If you would like to help, these items can be purchased on Chewy.com and shipped to the sanctuary. You can purchase and send gift cards, Tractor Supply or Blaines Farm Fleet are the closest. You can purchase and deliver the feed if you are able. Cash is the easiest thing to use to buy hay, as most of it comes from farmers who do not use any other form of money.

Be on the lookout this year! Make sure that your pets have flea prevention (collar, treat, liquid) to protect them from fleas and ticks! If you live in a very wooded area, the liquid form is so much better! It also protects them from mosquitoes, which doesn't happen with the other two forms of prevention.

What do you want to smell when your dog breathes in your face? Peanut butter or mint and parsley?
I'll be getting more creative here in the next week with my new packaging items. Stay tuned for price updates on my dog treats! We will see how many Peanut Butter Bones and Bad Breath Dumplings can fit into each bag.

I have these dog treats all packed and ready to go! I have 8 bags at the moment, so please take them all! Each bag includes 2 Bad abreath Dumplings (1" diameter) and 10 PB Bones (2" long). On each bag there are ingredients and storing instructions to keep these nonpreservative dog treats. Each bag is $5 (+shipping). All bags are currently kept frozen until they're ready to be brought to your home to go into your fur babies tummies. They're finally made! I have a limited number of Bad Breath Dumplings, but a HUGE abundance of my PB Bones. These are both softer than the regular store bought biscuits that have that hard crunch to it. $5 a bag, which includes 2 of the Bad Breath Dumplings (1 inch diameter) and 10 PB Bones (2 inches long).
Warning: these are home made with no preservatives, so they should be stored properly. Store in a fridge to keep for about two weeks. Otherwise, freeze and thaw it out later (it doesn't effect the treat).
