Since moving in with me Yuffie has always loudly complained whenever I would try to pet her below her shoulders. So much so it wasn't until about April that I discovered she had a small clump of matted fur close to the skin on her right hip. I had made a few attempts to brush it out but it was clearly causing her pain so I didn't force the issue too much. Yesterday I decided enough is enough and went to work on it with scissors and brush. It was quite a struggle and I felt terrible for causing her alot of pain but in the end the problem is solved. Today, over multiple tests Yuffie is letting me pet her from head to tail without complaint. I think the fur was causing her so much pain she didn't want me petting anywhere near it and that problem is now gone. I think she's a very happy kitty.

We had a little excitement this morning when Yuffie nearly fell from her favorite spot on the windowsill, then started making "he, he" noises I hadn't before heard. So if I am going to save up enough money to open a Rescue Farm in 10 years, I have my work cut out for me. I have been a stock investor for 15 years, professionally for 8, so I am not trying to learn a new skill, here. Over the past decade I have been able to beat the market by around 4% annually. In order to put myself in the best possible mindset, as I begin this new journey, I am returning to some old classics but this time with a firm ESG focus. In it's current state, this page was made as a placeholder for what will become HARFO: the Houstonia Animal Rescue Farm Organization. This 10-year journey, which started with the adoption of Yuffie, will result in a full Homestead and Animal Rescue Farm. As I come up with content ideas I hope to create an enriching experience on this page but at first it will probably just serve to communicate the steps (mostly financial) to make this dream a reality.
