Of course as soon as I said no more chicks this year she goes broody
Starting to get youngsters in for next year, going to have a few more breeds next year, to add to the list is already: Rhode Island reds, black copper Maran, lemon Pyle Brahma and lavender leghorn. I am going to be hatching weekly through next season so there will be plenty of day olds available. If there is anything anyone would like to see let me know
Trio of silkies looking for a new coop. Last years birds
Due to issues with my incubators motors both giving up. Once these hatches are finished I shan’t be hatching anymore this year. My hens are still going strong laying so will be offering eggs at a reduced rate of 1️⃣ per egg so they don’t go to waste.
Fertility is great on these guys will have eggs available this Friday from these, the sussex and the cream leg bars
Gorgeous chamois polish inbetween showers earlier
My gorgeous pair of Isabel Orpington’s love them 😍
Lots of eggs going in the incubator tonight. Am starting to take orders for point of lay that’ll be available later in the year.
Got 1/2 dozen coronation/light sussex eggs available for collection this weekend
Currently have great fertility on the cream leg bars and the light/ coronation sussex. The Isabel Orpington cockerel is not quite mature so will keep an eye on them. I’ve had to change the chamois polish cockerel so will be testing them again but his previous owner has said he knows his job and has chicks on the ground
Eggs can be collected from myself, delivered within a 10 mile radius of myself (pe282ub) or delivered using Royal Mail 48 hour tracked . I will be testing fertility at regular intervals during the season. By purchasing eggs you are accepting these terms of postage. If eggs are under 50% fertile with proof(sent back to me unbroken on day 10 of incubation) then I will send replacement eggs at buyers expense for postage. DO NOT mark the eggs with anything other than pencil.
Terms of postage
We make no guarantee for fertility when eggs are posted and this is done at buyers risk. Eggs are packaged in poly boxes, bubble wrap and fragile tape. Buyers must understand and accept our terms of posting. Incubation techniques are extremely varied and beyond my control as is handling in the post. We cannot be held responsible for poor hatches or fertility if they have been posted and ask that you do not order unless you accept and understand this.
On receipt eggs should be left to stand for 24hrs point down to allow the air sacs to settle.
Going to do a bit of an experiment with my laying hens to put them with my cream leg bar cockerel to make different coloured layers. After I’ve hatched some myself would anyone be interested in eggs or chicks. Depending how well it goes may have point of lay too if enough are interested
Citron silkies really enjoying the spring sunshine
New cream legbar trio. Hens are in lay already and are fertile so taking orders for their eggs now
From Tuesday next week we will have eggs available:

Isabel Orpington
Citron silkies
May potentially have
Chamois polish
Mixed silkies
One of today’s new additions…… Isabel Orpington’s currently just have a pair so may only have chicks or small amounts of eggs in threes until I can get more hens.
Looking for a new coop for this breeding group

Cockerel is fertile hens are laying
I’ve had a few messages over the last few days leading up to Easter about baby rabbits. A few people have been honest and said their kids wanted one instead of Easter eggs others not so much.
All of my ready to go babies have gone to new homes but over Easter I won’t be sending baby rabbits to new homes as a rule because they shouldn’t be used as gifts they take a lot of work, my girls have the best life they have a large shed to live as rabbits should in a group and they also have access to their own garden which is secure. They shouldn’t be brought on a whim with no thought to what will happen when they get bigger as they do live for years and deserve a good quality of life not to be rehomed after six months because a child has lost interest.
….
Rant over
Got a couple of new breeds joining us this coming week watch this space ……
Finally have some eggs fertile by the big man. I’m working my way through the waiting list and will have eggs available soon. Love this boy the photos don’t show how massive he is he’s as wide as he is tall. Shows what a bit of spring sunshine can do
Young lionhead buck saying hi to mr Eddie this morning
Some of my eggs finishing today to be posted on Monday or can be collected this weekend as have plenty to go round.
listing for 6 coronation Sussex eggs. Great fertility in my own incubator. Great chicks from this group last year and the ones on the ground are looking promising too. Will be posted Royal Mail 48 hour tracked cannot guarantee fertility once they have been through the post
My gorgeous chamois polish enjoying the sunshine this afternoon
Loving these guys at the moment. Cracking chicks on the ground from them. Time to get them penned up the daily egg hunt is getting a bit boring
Currently trying to put 1/2 dozen batches of eggs on eBay to finish on a Sunday/monday weekly. Currently have light and coronation sussex on there eggs are posted by Wednesday next day deliver packed in poly boxes with bubble wrap. Eggs can also be collected from me at PE28. Will eventually have all of my breeds on there as they all get back into the swing of laying. As the weather gets brighter I will be putting more pictures of all the breeds up so you can see the finished product. Will also have day olds and later in the season have point of lay available
Very busy morning, mrs gold top adopted the two chicks that hatched as the rest of the incubator is a few days behind. She already had one of her own.
Just about to go to the post office with eggs. I still have 1 dozen light/coronation sussex ready to go in an incubator that I can post tomorrow or be collected tomorrow - now sold
First two chicks hatched this year over the weekend. There are some more breeds making their way out so will be plenty of chicks needing new coops soon
At the end of this week we should have some light and coronation sussex eggs available, there might be chamois polish and citron silkies
4 lion lop boys left. The 3 black ones were ready last weekend. The buff young man has just been weaned from mum so won’t be ready for another couple of weeks. I bought these boys with their mums so I don’t own dad but mums can be seen. All of them have been inside so are used to loud household noises. Will be sold in pairs or need to be going to be housed with another rabbit

Just a bit of housekeeping, Before hatching gets underway, you could call us organised. I’ve changed my terms of postage due to giving people the benefit of the doubt last year and people not being honest. Eggs can be collected from myself, delivered within a 10 mile radius of myself (pe282ub) or delivered using Royal Mail 48 hour tracked . I will be testing fertility at regular intervals during the season.
