It’s time! ✨ Journey is ready for adoption!
He came to us skinny with clamped up fins and he’s made a huge improvement in just a few weeks.
Journey will require at least a 5 gallon tank but would love bigger, too. He’s an active boy and appreciates all the swimming space he can get.
He is not shrimp friendly but I feel that he would do okay with fast moving fish.
Journey is located in Traverse City, Michigan but he is shippable too.

It is amazing what warm clean water can do for a betta. In just 5 days, Journey is already looking stunning.

He still needs some time to put on a little weight and recoup from those many stressful days living in a dirty cup. But hopefully he will be searching for his forever home soon 💙

Beau is still looking for his forever home! This petite veil tail loves zipping around his tank and will get especially excited during meal times. He's an agile swimmer who would appreciate plenty of room to explore with plants to hide and play in.

Hey everyone! 👋

Remember me? It's Pond... James Pond. 😎

I was rescued from a cup with fin rot, dulled coloring, and stress stripes. After being put into a tank full of clean, warm water I perked right up! My cup had me labeled as a mustard gas betta, but SURPRISE! I'm a cool black orchid guy full of blues, grays, and yellows that shine as I swim. I am a social dude who loves feeding time and coming up to the glass to greet people. I enjoy exploring different areas in my tank like my submerged Mason jar! I am eager to swim over to my new forever home.

Todays rescue, Mako!

To be completely transparent, this guy is in pretty decent shape. But sometimes, even as rescuers, some bettas just call to you and well, I couldn’t leave him! This way I can ensure he doesn’t fall ill, reaches his full potential and goes to a GOOD home! 💙

We are excited to see how he glows up!

Howdy!!

My name is Morel, like the mushroom! 🍄 I was rescued back in September where I was struggling with swim bladder issues and malnourishment due to poor living conditions. Then this nice lady took me home and got me feeling better in no time! I've been with my foster ever since and have been waiting for MY TURN to finally find my forever home. 💜

I'm a pretty fun guy! I like to weave all through my silk plants and sometimes I can look pretty funny doing it. I also LOVE to eat, it's my favorite thing to do! Sometimes I'll get hangry and flare at my foster mom if she's taking too long to feed me. 😏

My cup labeled me as a "mermaid" betta which means I'm a fancy veil tail with a shimmery, silver purple body with some pink showing through my fins. I know I'm a looker and the ladies love me. 😉

My ideal forever home would be a minimum of 3 gallons but anything over 5 gallons would be best! I love my silk plants so no plain Jane tanks for me, I need silks or live plants so I can keep up my exercises of swimming in loops around my plants. 🏊🏋️

I live in Kalamazoo, MI and can't be shipped right now because of cold temperatures, but spring is right around the corner! It's possible that some warmer weather may open up shipping as an option to get me to my forever home. ☀️

3 week update from our little boy, Beau!

As you can see he's decided on a color and it's BLUE 💙

Beau has upgraded from the hospital tank now into his temporary foster tank! He's enjoying swimming around and exploring all the space. He still looks pretty small in there compared to our other adult bettas. It's possible he may stay on the petite side when it comes to size, but he's showing us that he has a larger than life personality! Stay tuned to see his journey with us continue, and he should be ready for his forever home soon! ✨

We’ve been chatting with a lot of people lately about “THE NITROGEN CYCLE”… why it’s important, how to cycle your tank… etc.

We found this adorable video that we think really simplifies the nitrogen cycle and we encourage anyone starting a tank, or anyone who is confused by the nitrogen cycle to watch it.

As always, you can message us with any questions!

🧪A nitrogen cycled tank is a requirement to adopt any of our bettas. We look for 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and ideally 5-20 nitrate (though we normally keep our tanks around 10) 🚨and don’t believe anyone who tells you that a tank can cycle in 24 hours 🚨

He has darkened up to a beautiful silver color… only time will tell what his end look will be🖤 He was labeled a rosetail but we still don’t believe that’s the case, his tail doesn’t appear to have the branching it needs to be a rosetail. We are thinking more delta or Halfmoon 🙂

Can’t wait to see the rest of his transformation!
