Socializing your new French Bulldog Puppy between 4 and 8 weeks is crucial for building their confidence! This is especially important for dogs that are born with no siblings, often referred to as " singletons "

Here are some essential puppy training tips to help your French Bulldog and what I have implemented for our french bulldog puppy to become a confident and well-rounded dog for her future family.

Expose Them to Different Sounds and Sights: Let your puppy get used to household sounds like the vacuum cleaner, doorbell, and TV. Gradual exposure helps them become accustomed to various stimuli without fear.

Practice Gentle Handling: Regularly touch your puppy's paws, ears, and mouth. This not only prepares them for grooming and vet visits but also makes them comfortable with human touch.

Introduce a Variety of Toys: Provide a range of toys with different textures, shapes, and sizes. This stimulates their curiosity and builds confidence in exploring new things.

Interaction with Trusted People: Allow your puppy to interact with family members and close friends in a controlled manner. These interactions help them become comfortable with human contact and socialization.

Short Car Rides: Take your puppy on short, positive car rides to get them used to traveling. End these trips with a play session or a treat to ensure they associate car rides with positive experiences.

Following these tips will ensure your new puppy grows into a confident, well-socialized dog, ready to thrive in their new home.

Curious about when to start your French Bulldog on raw dog food? 🐶 When my Frenchie newborn puppies are ready to wean off their mom’s milk, I begin transitioning them to a raw diet as early as 3.5 weeks old.

Their first meals are a blend of raw food mixed with goat milk, a bit of pumpkin, and a sprinkle of probiotics. This creates a liquid consistency that’s easy for them to lap up. As they grow and their teeth develop, I gradually remove the goat milk until they’re eating fully raw meals.

Remember, feeding raw requires careful handling, just like in your kitchen. Clean all surfaces that come into contact with raw food, wash your dog’s dish with soap after each use, and for my tiny 3.5-week-old puppies, I even use baby wipes to keep them clean.

Thumbelina here is ready to meet her new family as will be ready to her new home as early as 8 weeks.

If you want to know more about her comment " Frenchie " and I'll send you a link to get all the details.

Upgrading Our Singleton French Bulldog Puppy's Living Space!

We've made some thoughtful upgrades to create the perfect environment for our Frenchie singleton, Thumbilina. We've added a heating pad and IKEA bathroom shower mats, which are excellent for puppies, providing a grippy surface that helps them stand and walk.

Although it might be a bit early for a jungle gym, it's a great addition to stimulate her mind and awareness, which is crucial for a singleton puppy like Thumbilina who lacks siblings for social interaction and learning.

In the back, there's a p**p tray, making cleanup a breeze. Thumbilina will be ready for her forever home in just 6 weeks, and we're starting to interview potential families for our precious French Bulldog puppy.

To get more info on her comment " Thumbilina " I'll send you a DM where you can get all the info.

This is a typical day in my life as a French Bulldog Breeder

My mornings are pretty busy getting all my Frenchies and German Shepherd to do their business, getting them fed and sorted before I can have my coffee and go to work.

Right now it's more hectic than usual because I have one nursing mom and one singleton Frenchie puppy that just turned 2 weeks old. So they both need extra care and attention.

But every week becomes easier and easier

Thumbilina is now 2 weeks old... She's been thriving, eating, and growing day by day.

We can now start looking for a home for her. Stay tuned as we conduct interviews.

Day 4 Update!

Our precious French Bulldog singleton puppy is now 4 days old and doing fantastic!

She’s been gaining weight steadily each day, growing stronger and cuter by the minute. We're so proud of our new puppy’s progress!

Lilly is doing a wonderful job, though her appetite is still not back to normal. This is common for whelping moms, so we’re keeping a close eye on her to ensure she’s comfortable and healthy.

In other news, our 2 other French Bulldogs and our German Shepherd Mika have gone into heat, making things even more busy.

Follow this little girl's journey until she goes to her new home.

Here are 5 things I wish I had known before I had a singleton French bulldog puppy.

You'll want to save this one for later so you can come back to it.

Raising a singleton puppy can be extremely difficult for any dog breeder not just French Bulldog breeders but it can be extremely rewarding too.

So here are five things to keep in mind!

1. Socialization: Expose the puppy early to diverse experiences, people, dogs, and environments to compensate for the lack of littermates and prevent future fearfulness or aggression.

This is one of the reasons I always expose my puppies to many different environments before they leave my home.

2. Play and Interaction: As the sole playmate, engage in frequent interactive play sessions with the puppy to foster social skills, bite control, and mental stimulation.

When our singleton puppy( name to be determined) is old enough you will see how I introduce the jungle gym and start doing little training sessions with her to stimulate her mind.

3. Mimicking Sibling Dynamics: Though you can't replicate littermates, you can mimic sibling interactions with toys and games, teaching the puppy proper behavior and boundaries through simulated play-fighting and gentle wrestling..

4. Training and Boundaries: Consistent training is essential to teach the puppy manners, obedience commands, and boundaries. Since they won't have siblings to learn from, you'll need to be patient and provide clear, positive reinforcement-based guidance.

Because there is only 1, this gives me enough time to dedicate some training to give the family a head start.

5. Preventing Separation Anxiety: Singleton puppies may be more prone to separation anxiety since they're used to constant company. Start getting them used to brief alone time early on, ideally from puppyhood, to avoid over-dependence and anxiety when they're by themselves. Crate training offers a secure haven during your absence.

Well Mother's Day got a new meaning. My lilac tan girl went into labour on Sunday and was ready to be a mom. I was expecting a small litter of two but she was actually only carrying one - singleton

Having a singleton puppy has had its own challenges the last few days and poses even greater challenges raising her until she goes to her new family. But it's nothing I'm not prepared for. This will definitely be a hard one to see go but it will be a great learning experience raising one vs a litter.

Ensuring optimal nutrition for your pregnant French Bulldog is key to the health of both mom and her future puppies!

New Breeders, take note: gradual increases in food intake starting around week four of pregnancy are essential to meet her heightened nutritional needs. It's recommended up to a 50% increase in food intake by the end of pregnancy, tailored to your dog's individual needs and litter size. High-quality puppy food or a specialized diet for pregnant dogs is a must to provide the extra nutrients required during this crucial time.

Don't forget clean water access 24/7!

Consult with your veterinarian for personalized guidance based on factors like breed, size, and health status. Regular vet check-ups ensure mom's health and diet adjustments as needed.

Lilly is in 55 days into her pregnancy and today I brought her over to my place from her guardian family in Ottawa, Ontario.

She is scheduled to have her puppies on May 13th but they can arrive sooner.

We had a long drive back home, but she did great! The other Frenchies were really excited to see Lilly again so I did a slow introduction with them so she didn't feel overwhelmed.

The vet said she saw 2 pups on the X-ray but now that I see her in person I think she might be having more... but will find out for sure later this week.

In August of 2023, I returned home from a weekend at the cottage and noticed Fúli's ear was all puffy and swollen. Concerned, I took him to the vet the next day, where he was diagnosed with a hematoma.

This was a new experience for me, as I had never encountered a hematoma in any of my dogs before. Consulting with two different vets, they both suggested surgical repair for his ear. However, at the time, I felt that was a bit extreme, so I opted to have his ear drained instead.

So, we went ahead with draining the fluid and wrapping his ear flat. However, looking back, there are things I would do differently knowing what I know today.

When the ear fills up with fluid, it accumulates between the skin and cartilage. After it's drained, it's crucial for the tissue and cartilage to bind back together, which is why the vet flattens the ear and wraps it tightly to the head for a few days.

One challenge I faced was that dogs don't typically like this and would shake their heads until the wrap comes off. Instead of solely relying on bandages and sticky tape to keep the ear flat, I would use a headband called the "No Flap Ear Wrap." This headband is secured with a 4-point adjustable design with Velcro, ensuring it stays in place and prevents your dog from shaking it off.

We ended up using the same wrap in November when Fúli eventually needed surgery. I firmly believe that if we had used this approach from the beginning, we would have had a better chance of avoiding surgery altogether.

Comment "EAR WRAP," and I'll send you a link to the one I used for Fúli's post-surgery.

I got some exciting news this morning from .scarlett & , who are apart of the guardian program and have been raising Lilly since she's been a puppy.

Lilly has gone into heat! This is her second heat and she will be due to be bred in the coming weeks. She is a lilac tan and has been dog I've wanted to breed since I started breeding. I haven't confirmed a stud yet, but Füli is a candidate.

Stay tuned... 👀

Your going to want to save this one for later.

The most common question I get about French Bulldogs when finding their homes is, "How do they get along with bigger breeds?"

The truth is that Frenchies are small breeds with a BIG BREED personality. This means they have the same confidence, and they can play a little harder compared to other small breeds due to the powerhouse structure.

BUT... The real question is, What will your big breed of dog do with a small breed like the French Bulldog in the house?

Here are some things to consider before you bring a small breed like the Frenchie into your big dog's domain!

1. Do their energies match? Sometimes bigger dogs, especially older dogs can't handle the puppy energy and this can cause some issues when trying to get them to get along.

2. Consider how adding a second dog to the household will disrupt your first dog's lifestyle. Will it be able to handle the fact that you will be giving the new dog a bit more attention and that your love will be split? This adjustment period can take some time.

3. Most importantly, consider your lifestyle. Do you have the time, patience, and resources to bring another dog into your home? Having a new puppy like a Frenchie can time to get them trained, especially if you aren't used to dealing with stubbornness.

Let me know what other breed you have in your house and what it was like for you when you brought home your Frenchie!

If you have a Frenchie, Pug, Boxer, or any other brachycephalic breed then you know acid reflux, digestion, and regurgitation of food is a huge issues.

One way to reduce some of these issues is by swapping out your dog's bowls from the traditional bowls to an elevated bowl like the Easy Eat.

Having a raised bowl helps, aid and prevents things like acid reflux, digestion, faster eating, postural issues, and much more because it allows the dog to open up their esophagus, allowing them to properly digest their food.

I love these bowls, and I think anyone who has a dog that struggles with any of the things mentioned will love them too.

They are well-constructed and dishwasher-safe, and they come is a lot of really cool colors. Also... I love how they fit my minimalist style!

Comment "EASY EAT" and I'll send a code with a to where you can snag an Easy Eat dish for your French Bulldog...

First, I have to say that I am very grateful for all the growth that I had in November. I'd be lying to you if I said there weren't moments where I wanted to throw in the towel.

There was a lot of research and planning that went into all the content but here is how I approach it 30 for 30.

1. I planned 30+ pieces of content ahead of time. Some videos had scripts, and some had bullet points of what I wanted to talk about.

2. I am here to help and educate new Frenchie owners. I put myself in the mindset of my "ideal audience" and asked what I wanted to learn about, and I created relevant content around those topics.

3. Hashtag research is SOOO important if you are looking to grow your account and reach a new audience. I made sure my hashtags reflected the content I was creating, using keywords in my videos, captions, and hashtags. Thank you Flick for being such a powerful tool.

5. Liking a video is just not enough anymore for engagement. I created content that was KRAMMED with valuable information that was savable and shareable, and I created engagement with my audience.

6 BONUS: I read and replied to ALL the comments and DMs. My inbox is still flooded and Im trying to get back to everyone. I took all the feedback from DMS and comments and added them to my notes of topics to cover.

Let me know in the comments if you enjoyed the 30s series and if you want to see more!
