A tragic time in the world of dogsledding. Lance was an absolute Warrior who will be remembered by the dog community as such.

We at Iditarod Nation are mourning the loss of 4-time Iditarod Champion, Lance Mackey. Lance passed away late in the evening of September 7, 2022 after a 20+ year battle of cancer. Lance embodied the Spirit of the Race, the tenacity of an Alaskan musher, displayed the ultimate show of perseverance and was loved by his fans. Our condolences go out to his family, friends, fans and the mushing community.

OFAH has done a great job putting these new laws into perspective, and why they aren’t educated decisions. We will touch on specifics about Ontario’s new outdoor dog laws over the next few weeks, to educate those who aren’t familiar with these changes.

This page has been created by a group of canine professionals that also handle or own working dogs, our main focus is Ontario based, sled dogs and hunting dogs. But we support and are advocates for all working and sporting dogs that are cared for properly. We have been getting a lot of negative and inaccurate publicity and it’s time to show the world the truth and fulfilling life our packs have!
