Sometimes rabbits are surrendered to us with a pedigree. We never take their pedigree documents, as it’s only truly beneficial to both breeders and those who show bunnies.

DDH knows that these pedigreed bunnies could be adopted for an increased adoption fee, but refuses to do so.

You will never see us mention that a bunny has a pedigree or is a “purebred.” Many have gone through our program and some are currently in it. (Elton John who is pictured isn’t a pedigreed bunny…but he sure is cute!)

The reason we bring this up is because we often receive messages asking if our adoptable bunnies have pedigrees or not. Some do, but our answer will always be no.

Every single bunny deserves to be treated with the same love and respect, regardless of their breed.

Meet our Newest Addition! He has yet to be named as we just rescued him last night. This sweet angel was dumped and set loose at our local farm. The farm contacted us and we went and picked him up! He/She is now adjusting well and enjoying their new life with a healthy diet and love! They will be visiting the vet next week so we can confirm the gender and learn some more about our new addition. ❤

Hello, everyone! I'm Piper, and I own and operate Second Hoppertunities, a Foster-based rabbit rescue.
Our headquarters are in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I began in early 2019, so it's been almost three years! I adore what I do, and the fact that I can help so many adorable rabbits is a true pleasure 🤍🐾

We're starting to grow in size, and it's becoming too much for just one person to handle.

Back to the point of my post, I am in severe need of some assistance. While I would prefer volunteers from Texas, I would be pleased to have individuals from other locations as well.
