❇️ DEVOTED YORKIE POLICIES ❇️
PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US!
HOW WE RAISE OUR PUPS:
Our puppies are raised indoors only, and are a part of our family. We do allow our adult dogs to play and exercise outside in our backyard, but puppies and their mothers are strictly indoors. They are dewormed every two weeks, and see our veterinarian for their first vaccination, and a very thorough health examination, including a f***l screening on each puppy, heart murmur screening, and receive flea prevention before leaving for their new families.
Our dogs are all from the same registry, which is AKC. We base the decisions in our program on the dogs temperament, structure and health, not what logo is on their paperwork. All of them come with registration of some type.
BREEDING RIGHTS VS. PET ONLY
All of our upcoming puppies will be PET ONLY!
We will never offer Breeding Rights to an unknown person. They are only available to those that I have developed a relationship with and am very familiar with their breeding program IN REAL LIFE.
It takes time to establish a relationship and build that trust. If you are solely looking for a breeding dog, there are other programs offering that. We support other small breeding programs, but have had some very negative experiences with breeders who tried to appear responsible on websites and social media, but were in fact negligent. Trust is earned, and although we want our bloodlines to continue, we have seen firsthand that responsible breeding programs are difficult to come by. Thank you for understanding.
ADOPTION PROCESS & WAITLISTS:
1). APPLICATIONS
All inquiries for puppies will be required to complete an Adoption Questionnaire. This is to ensure our puppies are placed in environments where they are able to thrive. Please do not take offense, and answer the questions honestly. Once a questionnaire has been reviewed, applicants will be notified of their status for approval.
2). ADOPTION
At the time of approval, applicants will then be given the option to either choose a puppy that is available, or be placed on We do allow people to schedule visits and reserve puppies in person, but only after the buyer removes their shoes and washes their hands, and absolutely no visiting another kennel or pet store before visiting here please. This is to protect our puppies whose immune systems have not quite developed. Due to Covid 19 we do ask that all parties wear a mask over their nose and mouth, as we have an immune compromised child with respiratory problems.
a waiting list.
3). WAITING LISTS
Those wishing to be on the Waiting List will be given first choice of available puppies according to their preferences. We do not require a deposit to be placed to be on our list! We absolutely do not take deposits on puppies until they are born and thriving!
To be placed on our waiting list, we need to know any preferences for coat length, coat color, gender, temperament, and we need to know the most reliable way to contact you.
We know waiting lists are anxious to see our newborns but we like to see them steadily meeting developmental milestones before allowing them to be reserved. So please give us a little bit of time after our girls due dates 😉
4). DEPOSITS
We do require a deposit to reserve a puppy. The deposit is non refundable, with the only exception being if there was an issue with the puppy’s health. In which case you would be notified immediately and the deposit returned. This deposit is subtracted from the total cost of the puppy. The applicant will be given 12 hours to decide if they wish to place a deposit to reserve a puppy, if they do not respond or wish to pass within 12 hours, we will move to the next applicant with those preferences. We only accept deposits via cash in person,or electronically via CashApp,PayPal,Zelle and Venmo.
5). AVAILABLE PUPPIES
Once all applicants on each waiting list are notified and have been given the chance to choose a puppy, all remaining available puppies will then be posted with their info on our page for new inquiries.
6). PUPPY PICK UPS
All puppies must be paid in full and scheduled to be picked up by the time they turn 8 weeks of age. Final Payment must be made either with cash or via Venmo. Absolutely no exceptions.
We will begin reaching out to schedule puppy pick ups between 6-7 weeks so that we can ensure to find a time that works for both parties. Please be respectful of our time, and communicate if you have difficulties due to a long drive, ect. Remember that often we have multiple appointments the same day, and we want to give each family our undivided attention as we review any questions you may have as you welcome your new addition.
7). SHIPPING & TRANSPORT
At this time we do not allow our puppies to fly in cargo. We are simply not comfortable with it. If a family is willing to pay for the puppy to fly in cabin, we will allow this. If this is needed please let us know at the time of your application because your puppy will need a different type of form filled out for the airline to accept them on the flight.
We do not deliver puppies ourselves. We have extremely busy schedules and simply cannot make deliveries. Puppies must be picked up from our home.
8. PHOTO UPDATES
Once a deposit is placed, we are happy to send updated videos and pictures of your puppy as it grows. We strive to send high quality images so please be patient with us as we often spend several hours capturing non blurry pictures for families.
9). PUPPY SAFETY
Please do not take your puppy to the pet store/dog park/ after you pick them up as they still need several booster shots to complete their vaccinations. EVERYONE wants to touch and kiss a little puppy just like they do all new babies. But just like a human baby, a puppy’s immune system is fragile and they are more susceptible to illness and disease than adult dogs. Also, please do not buy treats for your puppy until they are several months old as their digestive system can be more sensitive while they are young and developing.
10). HEALTH GUARANTEE
Every puppy leaving will come with our health guarantee. Every puppy is screened thoroughly by our veterinarian and sent home parasite free, with a clear f***l, and with age appropriate vaccinations. We provide a lifetime health guarantee against any fatal congenital defect. If at any age, your dog should pass away as a result of a fatal genetic flaw, you will receive a puppy of the same value at no cost from your choice of an upcoming litter. We require documentation from a licensed veterinarian showing the health problem was genetic/congenital, and directly resulted in the dog’s demise.
Due to the breed standard, Dachshunds have a predisposition to spinal/ back problems. We cannot provide a health guarantee against back/spinal issues, as so many factors outside of our control contribute to disk disease. However, we do everything in our power to breed dogs with excellent confirmation, and have not had disk disease present itself in any of our dogs. To prevent injury, we recommend keeping your dog at a healthy weight. Also take care that your dog does not jump to and from high places. We suggest pet stairs or ramps for access to beds, couches, ect. Another key factor in healthy spine development is avoiding spaying and neutering at a young age. Studies have shown early spay and neutering increases the risk of IVDD (disk disease) in YORKIE.
11). REFUND POLICY
We are committed to being responsible for our dog’s health and safety through the course of their lives. Because of this, we require that any puppy from our program be returned ONLY to us if a family is no longer able/willing to keep them. This is without a doubt one of the most important and vital parts of our program. We never want a dog to end up in a shelter, euthanized, or in a home we have not screened to find a proper fit.
This is to protect them and also to ensure they find the best new home possible.
We do not offer full refunds due to training difficulties, life changes (new baby, moving, kids lost interest, ect)
We will offer a partial refund if the dog has been kept up to date on vaccinations and heartworm prevention and documentation is provided. If not, we require the dog to be returned to us with no refund, so that we may begin the process of providing the needed veterinary care, training, and select a home that is better suited for it.
If we find that a dog is sold/surrendered without first contacting us for the option to be returned, we will take legal action.
Understand that every time we take in any dog, whether a puppy that’s been gone 2 days, or a 2 year old, it must complete a 10 day quarantine to protect the other dogs in our program. Often, dogs are shaken by the transition and need behavioral training and time to adjust. This not only takes time, it also costs money. Especially if heartworms/neglect are involved.
We encourage all families to take this into account when purchasing a puppy. Purchasing, raising, and training a dog are huge responsibilities and a lifelong commitment. They are a living creature with needs, emotions, and their best interest matters above all else.
12). PRICING
Due to Facebook policy, all pricing must be discussed in private messages, text or phone calls.
Our price range varies based on multiple factors but we are open about it and welcome questions.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. We’ve raised YORKIES for years, so we’re very familiar with the breed and are very open with our potential adoptive families about what to expect from their new baby. Just let us know what we can help with!
HOW MUCH FOR A PUPPY?
Let me say a few words to you, the person who writes an email to simply ask the price.
The person who calls and after hearing a price surprisedly states: “I can buy a cheaper dog elsewhere”.
I also address you; the person who doesn’t care about papers because I want “just a pet”.
No dog is “just a pet”.
Behind every pure bred dog is a BREEDER. I’m using capital letters to differentiate a breeder from a pet factory or mill. When you select to buy a dog from a reputable and quality breeder, this breeder is responsible for the health of every dog; both dogs owned and every dog they’ve sold. This breeder will lose time with their loved ones, skip holidays, miss major family events, rarely if ever vacation, lose sleep, and most of their personal house space has been turned into space for their dogs. The truly passionate breeder who loves what they breed, puts their whole heart and soul into it. Not only in puppies that are sold, but also in each client who owns a piece of their heart and now is a member of their extended family. This does not take into account any pup/dog who might get sick or need extra help to thrive. Breeders worry about their babies after they leave and will take one back without question, even if the dog is a shell of the puppy they once raised.
A breeder will get their hands dirty, often covered in everything accompanied with birthing. Because that’s what life is about...In the middle of birth and death is life. The wheel that keeps turning. A breeder will do progesterone tests, echos, xrays, analysis, emergency c sections, vaccinations, register dogs and litters, research pedigrees, deworm, tube feed, perform CPR, etc.,
Last but by no means least, a breeder CHOOSES the family lucky enough to have one of their puppies. Yes, you read that right. A true breeder chooses who they sell to because they care about their puppy’s future. There is no compensation that can offset the investment a Breeder has made, so they need to be confident its the right fit.
A good Breeder will have different criteria for those wanting to carry on their bloodline, why? Because breeding is not a responsibility to ever be taken lightly, it’s a lifestyle choice set aside for ONLY the few devoted people willing to sacrifice.
Because a dog is never “just a pet” it’s the Breeder’s legacy, a little boy’s best friend, a little girls protector, an elderly persons therapy, a member of the family, someone’s whole world!!!
