Friends, I need a second to vent on a topic that has been and is one of my biggest pet peeves for a long time now but I haven’t spoken up about. That is…

Fake service dogs or (ESA) emotional support animal.
I’m aware that I may lose some friends over this and that’s alright. I have seen it more in the veterinary clinics I’ve been at than anywhere else but it bothers me just the same. I have also had the honor and privilege to meet enough true service dogs to see the difference.

I believe it’s very wrong, disrespectful and insulting to see owners put “Service Dog” harnesses on their pet and make it very evident to everyone based on it’s behavior that it’s not a true service dog. I’m disappointed that companies have made light of that hard-earned title by selling these harnesses for any owner to use on their pets just so they can take them out anywhere in public. True service dogs go through long and rigorous training to earn that title and responsibility which also makes them very valuable. And their sole purpose on/off the clock is to keep their owners alive.
For ESAs, I’ve seen very few amount of people who have one and witnessed the dog actually needed for this purpose. Most dogs who are called ESAs appear to be very emotionally unstable and are not in sync with their owner. They’re not trained to help their owners control their emotions but will rather feed off the owner and react negatively. ESAs should not be recognized the same way true service dogs are and should not enjoy those same privileges.

I will continue to stand by this belief so that true service dogs will not lose value in their title and duty to their families, period.

Hey there all dog owners out there! Today I want to talk about self-control.
Why is self-control important for a dog to master? What does it look like? How does it benefit them?

Well I will start with saying that a dog learning self-control in a variety of situations not only greatly benefits then but also keeps them safe.

Focus•Drive•Bonding•Mental Stimulation•Patience

As you do these type of exercises with them during playtime regularly, they will begin to put it into practice in real life situations. They can learn to withhold their bark if not necessary, not chase after that cat/squirrel on the walk, not inhale their food, not jump on people out of excitement because they have that strong bond and respect for you that makes it possible!

These dental treats are by far the best I’ve ever experienced. I have used this product for almost 3 years and I love it!
I’ve given these to all four of my dogs who’s ages range from 10mo. - 7yrs old and none of my pups have a nasty foul breath, gingivitis, periodontal disease or tartar. They will get one every other night and their teeth look amazing!

is celebrating with a fresh dose of C.E.T.® VEGGIEDENT® FR3SH® Tartar Control Chews for Dogs! Visit https://bit.ly/3bKV0yc to shop our line of dental products! 🦷

I forgot how hard it is to wear out a 10 month Weimaraner! This girl recharges so fast ,I couldn’t keep up no matter much we played or how long our walks were. It was time for a hiking backpack where equal weight could be applied to slow her down and she’s doing well.

Thank you OneTigris for the gear that helps make this possible!

You want to always be strengthening you and your pup’s bond. The goal is that no matter what happens at the end of each day , you want to be their highest and most valuable reward. Going on daily walks together side by side is one of the most effective bonding moments you could ever have!

Zasha’s feeding routine at 9 wks!

We’re working on her remaining calm during feeding and having a more gentle “shake”. This week I’ve been focusing on her commands in both English and Ukrainian and added in eye contact work. She’s doing well and has a great attitude towards learning!

Thanksgiving Day isn`t until the 25th but I`d like to go ahead and start this month off by showing thanks and gratitude.
This month last year, Leading Canines & Care (dog sitting/training services) became official with the help of some very special friends of mine who deserve credit and recognition.
Jennifer Allen started this as my first dog sitting/training client and a supporter years before LCC was a thing! She, along with many others, spread the word and soon new clients were contacting me.
Julie Wright was my second client. She also used her amazing artistic skills in helping me design the LCC logo, making this an official business, and helping it constantly grow.

Jamie Bell was my third client. She`s helped LCC grow tremendously by spreading the word about my new business and always recommending me to other dog owners.
