The story behind ‘The Scoop Ireland’.

Meet Ruth and Michael, two dog enthusiasts aiming to make life easier for dog owners and determined to help in the dog fouling campaign to create cleaner, safer outdoor spaces for us all.

Faced by the Covid 19 restrictions their recipe for survival like many others was to get outdoors and walk. Overwhelmed by the excessive amount of new dog owners and stay-at-home four legged furry friends in our parks, infuriated by the extortionate amount of dog poo on the pathways, mind blown by the supposed biodegradable bags hanging shamefully from the branches of Ireland’s most beautiful woodlands and spending the majority of the walk tactically avoiding the dreaded excrement. They asked themselves, why are some dog owners not picking up their dog’s p**p?

From the identification of this problem in our society, thorough research of current products available to dog owners and consultation with many dog owners about their needs, Ruth and Michael were inspired and started ‘The Scoop Ireland’. They have launched their first product this month - a portable p**per scooper. It’s very easy to use and is available in different sizes and various colours. The product contains an integrated p**p bag compartment. It hooks onto your lead or clothing for convenience and easy access meaning you don’t have to carry it around. The contraption is designed so that the dog owner avoids contact with the dog poo as much as possible. The product is expandable and can hold the poo-filled bag for you until you come across a bin.

No more mess. No more fuss. No more dog fouling!
