Meet Betty and Molly! I had my first one-to-one with these two gorgeous girls over the weekend. We’ll be working on loose lead walking separately, introducing a queue word for this, and building focus / eye contact with the person who is walking them at any one time. Betty and Molly also have another dog friend at home, but really feed off each others excitement when walking, so we’re just working with them. ☺️🐾

Another couple walks / check ins for Eddie. It’s great seeing him as I feel so necessary in his life, as if I stop stroking him, he throws a bit of shade and whines that he’s not getting attention🤪 Always makes me smile🐾

Had my third session with Tuzi today. We’re working on lessening reactivity towards other animals including dogs and people when out walking! It’s been important to start right at the basics, practicing loose lead walking, and building focus. This is where a lot of my sessions start, as a lot of behaviours dissipate once a bond is built. Tuzi was highly treat orientated, which is great when training usually, but being a rescue, did show some behaviours such as nibbling and pawing, which needed work first too. Tuzi is a very fast learner, and is doing very well already. Today we worked on treat luring to add a loose lead queue. Well done Tuzi!🐾

Few walks this weekend (plus a couple with my loony boy). Unfortunately after having some car trouble on Saturday, I couldn’t get to see a couple clients for training, but thanks to some family and friends, was able to still see my regular walk pals!🐾

NEW SERVICES ALERT!

Next week I am going to be adding two new services that I will be offering to my price list.

These new services are:

1) Video consultations / sessions
I will be offering live video sessions (sticking to 1-to-1 for now whilst I trial different platforms) for training, just like it would be in person. These sessions will be great if you live that little bit further afield and can’t drive to meet in a public space or you want to stay within a certain budget, as of course, no potential fuel costs would be added!

2) Pop ins
These are, of course, a popular service when you have a dog that doesn’t need a walk or if you have other animals, so I will be offering prices for pop ins. Perfect if your animal needs a quick check, feeding, play or just a fuss.

If you’d like to book for the above, the prices will be released on Monday, 25th of March, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch with bookings or queries from that point!

Had a session with the most gorgeous girl, Cookie. We worked on recall beginnings, eye contact (proactive check-in), cat and mouse game (this helps with creating good habits), find it and touch! Well done Cookie, can’t wait for our next session.

Yesterday morning was my 7th (I think!) session with Tucker. Tucker was rehomed through no fault of his own, and was reactive to other dogs on walks and sometimes people when coming into the home. Although Tucker still barks and lunges sometimes, this is the closest he has been to another dog since November. Tuckers owners have clearly been putting in the work, while some people forget it’s up to them when I’m not there to keep training to see progress! Tuckers main distraction techniques are “find it”, “look” with a clicker, and using “let’s go” and eye contact when triggers get a bit too much. Well done Tucker, couldn’t be more proud.

How many different exercises can you spot? My guinea pig and I used some of our time at the local enclosed field to practice some general obedience. If you’d like to book a session, but want to use a public space instead of your home, this is not a problem! Or I’m more than happy to look at using an enclosed space of your choosing.🐾

I had the pleasure of walking Eddie a couple times this past week, the goodest boy as always!
