Creepin’ Kitties •Saving one spicy kitty at a time•
A group of cat-loving volunteers focused on educating pet owners and supporting local animals in need.

We emphasize the importance of spaying/neutering, safety when caring for ferals, and occasionally help with rehoming.

Rescuers don’t burn out because of the animals, they burn out because of the people they have to come into contact with every day.

The “it’s just an animal!”or the “oh it’s a bad thing a feral cat was unalived today?”

Or what about the “well if you can’t make all 30 cats running around my property disappear, I’ll get my target practice in no problem”?

Maybe the “isn’t this what you do? Isn’t this your job??” No ma’am. I do not make a dollar off of rescue, I lose money. I lose time with my family.

“I just wanted to take in the sick and unfixed mother cat. She then had babies in my house, they grew up and never went to the vet, now they had babies together, and I can’t figure out why they’re all unaliving now that they’re on the third+ generation of inbreeding!!”

“I just want to feed MY outdoor cat. Those other ones aren’t mine. Why can’t YOU take them?”

We’re tired. We’re frustrated. We are not superhuman even though we try to be.r

Hey everyone, thank you for the love and support as we navigate the changes here.

No more intakes is going to be hard, but it is necessary. However we have already found some ways to still assist kittens and cats in need by keeping them where they are familiar and providing physical/financial support.

For example, this sweet little cutie.

She has been bottle fed by a long time friend of CK and we’d like to help network her a home! Her adoption application would be through us, you can find the link to that below. Her foster mom would be thrilled to have her fly the coop sometime soon! Waiting on an exact age but she’s at least 8weeks, these photos are a few weeks old.

We will be holding our annual fall rabies clinic here at the shelter on Friday, September 5th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. 🐾
Vaccines are $10/each CASH ONLY. All animals must be 12 weeks or over. You must have a current vaccine certificate (not tag) to receive a 3-year vaccine, otherwise a 1-year vaccine will be administered. All dogs must be leashed and cats must be in carriers.

We hope to see you there!

Please please PLEASE be vigilant with your outdoor colonies.
THREE colonies we work with have had confirmed Panleuk/Distemper cases.
This virus is heartbreaking, spreads VERY easily, and can wipe out an entire colony in a matter of weeks.

Some of you might have noticed the slight name change. Others probably scrolled on by without a second thought. But either way, I needed to type out some sort of explanation for the decision. Read or scroll past, either way thank you.

December 2022 I did my first trip with 5 cats to a Trap, Neuter, Release clinic that now has become such a vital part of my life. My husband and I drove in a white out snow storm to make sure that we got them there and home safely, the trip usually would take 45 minutes and it took us almost twice that just one way. But I was so excited the entire time, it lit up something inside of me.

Being able to help those 5 cats, making even a small impact on the strays I saw every single day was something I had been searching for. Saving animals was something I always wanted to do and here was my chance. So just two weeks later I partnered up with someone in my life and I named our new project Creepin’ Kitties Rescue. We lived in rentals, both had kids, limited income, and knew that we needed to do something to continue saving the animals we grew to love. TNR was the calling.

TNR spiraled into the thought of, “well we can just hold onto a cat until it finds a home” and then became, “32 cats? Most are feral? They need gone in a week? Sure!” and we never stood a chance from there on. The need was bigger than either of us ever imagined and the rescue world swallowed us whole. Then, the ying to my yang of my rescue partner pulled some of the messiest stunts I could imagine and I am still dealing with the aftermath. They didn’t even make it eight months in the rescue world before I had to cut all ties with them.

That heartbreak caused me to reach out and meet new connections, build more of a network. Without that lesson I wouldn’t have met some of the kindest human beings. Ones that share the same love for animals as I do, even when it might drive us a little insane. They were and still are so excited to take on a new challenge, a new kitten that needs them, or embark on a road trip to secure a cat I know nothing about except that their time is quickly expiring. The network I have now built is something I could have only dreamt of.

We have adopted out hundreds of cats and kittens, spayed/neutered close to 600, and have helped improved the lives of more than I could even put a number on. But somewhere along the way, I have realized that the original spark and excitement I had for this realm has all but been lost. It is weighing on me, on the cats, and it is showing through in ways that have begun to effect my family. So, it is time to redirect.

Creepin’ Kitties Rescue will now be known as simply Creepin’ Kitties, no more “Rescue” on the end. This is in hopes that we can reroute the focus of what we do back to TNR and supporting those cats that no one will claim. Providing vet care, food, shelters, and other help they may need. No more mass intakes, no more maternity wards during kitten season, and more focus on the greater impact we can make.

It will take some time, there will be growing pains, but we will get there one step at a time. I have no doubt that the network, no the family, that has grown here will continue to support us in our journey. Adopting out the amazing 30ish cats we have in network is going to take the longest amount of time, but we will make it happen. I know the adoptions can’t sky rocket over night, or else I would have found a way to do that by now haha

If you stuck around through this ramble… Thank you for the love, thank you for letting me continue doing what I love… Saving one spicy kitty at a time.
