This was copied from a breeder friend’s page. When reading it, I felt as if I had wrote it myself. It bears repeating..

***DEAD AND INJURED PUPPIES*** A Breeder's Rant

This rant bears repeating.

Twice in less than 6 weeks I've heard from other breeders about pups they had sold being crushed, kicked or thrown resulting in broken bones and DEATH.
As a breeder I can't begin to describe how this sickens me. I've been teased by family and friends about how picky I am when it comes to finding the best possible homes for my pups. I do not sell to anyone who has small children. That doesn't mean I think kids should grow up without dogs. It means; use your head when looking for a dog for your family. Tiny toy dogs are not toys for children. I was once asked if Yorkies are good with 4 year olds. My response, "Is your 4 year old good with Yorkies?" I never heard from that person again. Fine with me because I would have never placed a pup in that home.
As a parent you should have enough common sense to realize the bulk of care is going to fall on your shoulders regardless of the promises made by kids to care for the puppy. That means vet visits, food purchases, cleaning up messes, etc.
Adults are no better. Its easy to fall in love with that wiggly pup with the soulful eyes. Then reality sets in.
One pup was returned to the breeder because, "I can't housebreak it." Its legs had been broken at one time. This p**s poor excuse for a human was home with the dog daily. Small dogs can be a challenge to housebreak. It takes persistence, patience and most of all, paying attention to cues that the dog needs to "go".
In my house, all carpeting has been replaced with washable flooring. My dogs are housebroken but still have accidents or simply won't go out if its raining. They're sissies that way. I also have intact males and a female who mark. They know they aren't supposed to which is why I never see them doing it. Guess what? I clean it up. No big deal. It goes with the territory. My dogs are my family.
A question I always ask is, "What will you do with the pup while you work?" If I get the feeling its going to be stuffed in a crate for 8 - 12 hours a day, you're not getting a pup from me. I understand that people have to work but this isn't a toy you take out to play with when you feel like it.
Getting a dog requires some planning in advance. Again, use your head! Do you stuff your child in a crate and leave all day?
While I'm on a roll here, let's get into the cost of pups. Before I ever get a litter of pups I have significant money and time invested. When its time for pups to be born, more often than not, my girls decide to do this just as I'm going to bed. I'm hands-on until all pups are born sometimes into the wee hours of the morning. Then begins 8 - 12 weeks of washing bedding, putting down papers/pee pads, picking up papers/pee pads, vet visits, dewormings, getting them to eat solid food and most of all, enjoying the heck out of them. I'm very attached by the time its time for them to leave. So, don't try to talk me down in price or give me a sob story about how you can't afford my price but have always wanted a Yorkie. If you can't afford the dog I figure you can't afford to take care of it either.
One last pet peeve is the militant "Adopt don't shop" crowd. I love dogs. It breaks my heart to see dogs dumped when they become old or sick. I see posts all the time on facebook and I immediately check on where that dog is at. Its usually 6 states away or I would be bringing it home to live out its days with me. Everyone who buys one of my pups is told that if it doesn't work out I will take the dog back. I know life can throw curve balls sometimes and caring for a pet is no longer possible. So, don't try to make me feel guilty for breeding my dogs. Don't make someone feel bad for buying a dog. I equate this to telling a childless couple they can just adopt a baby.
If you managed to read all that and still want to buy a puppy from me, let's talk. I want you to have a healthy, happy, unconditionally-loves-you dog for life.

Just a quick video of the puppies. We still have a few older male puppies that were born earlier this year available now. They are completely housetrained and up to date on their shots, very well socialized and great personalities. We have reduced the price on the older male puppies to find them their furever homes. We also have adults that we are rehoming because due to my health I have to reduce the number of puppies I will be breeding. All of our adults are very well socialized, wonderful with humans of all ages and other animals and much cheaper than buying a puppy. The only reason I am rehoming them is I have 14 adult dogs and it’s just too much to care for the way my heart has been acting up. I have both males and females available. Our younger puppies will be available in September at our regular prices. We have both male and female puppies that will be available in September. We also have a couple of mamas expecting over the next couple of months. I am updating the website with pictures and prices as I have time, so if you are interested keep checking http://www.exquisitebabydollmorkiesandyorkies.com to see who we have available! Have a great day!

Tucker and Frosty have found homes! These 2 beautiful Morkie boys who currently live in MA, still need a home would very much like to be your Valentine! Through no fault of their own, their elderly owner can no longer keep them. They are 5 1/2 years old, neutered, housebroken, great with kids and other animals, up to date on their medical and are exceptionally sweet, playful and loveable. We would like to keep them together because they are brothers and have never been separated since birth, but would consider individual homes. Tucker is Silver and weighs 8lbs and Frosty is white and weighs 9lbs. If you are interested in making them members of your family, please contact me for an application

Meet Tucker (silver) and Frosty (white). Tucker and Frosty are 5 year old brothers. They were bred here at Exquisite Babydoll Morkies. Their parents were Mindy and Jacob. Their adoptive mom passed away this past summer and their adoptive dad is getting older and caring for two active boys on his own, is becoming too difficult for him. It is with great sorrow that he has asked me to find the perfect homes for them. We would ideally like to keep the boys together, as they have never been apart a day in their lives, but will consider seperate homes if we can find the right homes for them. Both boys are house trained, neutered, up to date on their vaccinations and are well socialized and good with children and other animals. If you would be interested in finding out more about them and possibly adopting them, please PM me. Only people with an approved application on file will be considered. If you don’t currently have an application on file with us, please PM me your email address and I’d be happy to send you one. Have a great night!

Angel Grace and her babies. Litter D2 Morkies. A peak at life in the nursery. The babies are now 3 weeks old. They spend their day learning about their environment . Mom cuddles, cleans and feeds them. They are totally dependent on her at this point. When mom leaves for some me time or even while she is there and they are feeling adventurous, they wander off and play with each other or their toys. They are learning to manuver and already wrestle with each other and wag their tails when I come and pet them. They have learned rolling on their back will get them a belly rub and barking and whining when they are alone will make me come running. 😂 They prefer to have the light on and cry when I turn it off or cover the basinett to keep them warm. They want to see what’s going on in the world outside their basinett. They hear the big dogs and are curious and the big dogs are excited to meet them but that won’t happen for a few weeks yet. Mom is still very protective and rarely lets them out of her sight. They still haven’t mastered walking but have gotten much better at it this week. They have learned to play with their toys. They can push the balls around easily and have learned to pick up their leopard and shake it. Their colors are starting to show up better. We can see Dahlia’s sable markings and the Golddust babies show up well now. I am fairly sure that several will have blue eyes but it will be weeks before we know for certain. For those of you who submitted applications and asked to be put on the notify list, I haven’t forgotten you. We generally don’t take deposits until they are about 8 weeks old and have been vet checked. Life is fragile in these first few weeks and even though they appear to be healthy and we do everything in our power to keep them that way, some times nature can be cruel. If you are curious where you are on the notify list or would like to submit an application , please contact me. We have had several successful matings this month and should be expecting more puppies in late March that will be available in early June. I hope you enjoyed seeing the babies as much as we enjoy watching their antics. Have a great day!

Update: We have 2 girls and 2 boys! The girls are white with a possible gold mask (It’s difficult to tell if they’ll be Goldust for the first few days) and a black and white one who will most likely grow up to be tri color. The 2 males are white (possibly Golddust). I will not know permanent eye color until they are 6-8 weeks old. The pups will not be priced until I know eye color. Pictures to follow in the next few days. Right now I am letting mama and babies bond. Angel worked hard and deserves some alone time with her babies. I am so sad this will be her last litter. She is such a good mama!

Angel’s pups are going to be New Years babies! She’s been in labor all night! Please pray for her and her babies!

Welcome to Our Page

Hi. Thank you for your interest in our puppies. We are a small home breeder that breeds only a limited number of high quality litters per year. Our dogs are all treated like our babies and are raised in our home. We have traveled all over the country and spared no expense to buy our breeding pairs from the best breeders. We raise them with love, as part of our family and feed them only the best quality food and supplements. All of our breeding dogs have been checked by our vet to assure they have no genetic abnormalities and are in optimum health prior to breeding. We wait until our females are 2 years old before we breed them and they receive prenatal care from our vet. We will only breed dogs who we feel have exceptional qualities. Our dogs have been tested and trained to assure that they have good temperaments.

Our puppies receive socialization with children and pets from birth. We handle and play with them daily. They are raised with love, as part of our family and exposed to daily household noises. They are health checked, parasite free and receive age appropriate vaccinations based on my veterinarian’s recommendations. I never take a deposit on a puppy until my vet confirms they are 100% healthy and perfect. All of our pups will come with a health guarantee against genetic defects. I begin potty training and basic obedience training starting at 4-5 weeks old, so they have a good foundation before they go to their new homes. By the time they are ready to go to their new homes at 12 weeks old, they are happy, well adjusted, and confident. We work hard to ensure that our puppies will be the best dog you have ever owned and we stand behind them 100%. Our commitment to you doesn’t end when you take our puppy home. We are always available to answer questions from our puppy parents on nutrition, health, training, etc. Your family becomes an extended member of our family. We love it when our adoptive parents share updates of our puppies progress as they grow. We’ll even puppy sit occasionally if you need it. If for any reason during our puppy’s lifetime, you are no longer able to provide it a home, we will take it back. We never want our puppies to end up in an animal shelter.

We are located in MA but can hand deliver to any major airport (for an additional fee) or you are welcome to pick up your puppy at my home or use your own lap nanny. If you are interested in adopting one of our puppies, or getting on our waiting list for future litters, please fill out and return our Puppy Application and I'll contact you once we have a pup that meets your requirements. We offer 6 months interest free financing through Paypal and offer a 10% discount for veterans, military and first responders. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you for your interest in our puppies!
