Today we celebrated Vinnie, the toy poodle, turning two! 🎉

Before our walks we grab the best snacks in the fridge! Do I look a little crazy walking around with beef and cheddar sticks? Possibly. Does it get me eye contact with my dog 10x more during our walks? YES!

Prim is working really hard on keeping focus on me during walks, that means when she sees a squirrel..eyes on me. A dog barking through the fence? Eyes on me. Kids running around the yard? Eyes on me. Every time I get eye contact she gets a reward. So that means she doesn’t get anything for looking at the hands holding the treats, only directly up at me. This has not only improved loose leash walking, but also keeps her brain focused during our walks! We can take shorter walks, and she is still getting the mental stimulation to wear her down for the evening.

Sweet girl started her heat cycle this week, so we didn’t get to go to the fun events we had planned for the weekend—instead, we decided to work on loose leash walking and obedience skills at the park! Good girl, Primmy ♥️
