Hat Trick Tollers is a small family owned breeder of Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers In Langley, BC.

We pride ourselves in raising our puppies in our home while being completely under foot and with proper socialization and care.

Happy 1st Birthday to Stave, Odin, Nugget, Rolley, Tavish, Brandy & Mabel! We can’t believe it’s been a year since welcoming you into this world! We hope you all get extra lovings today from your families!

1 day until Aspen’s Favourite Lakes turn 1!

We can’t believe Brandy will soon be one. Brandy, aka Princess, is still a bundle of energy. She loves her daily walks and play time. As soon as dinner is finished she runs to get a toy and drops it at your feet, she is ready to play!
Brandy loved the snow and playing with her cousin Archie while running through snow banks like a puppy snow plow.
Brandy still keeps us on our toes, if we can’t see or hear her, look out as she is probably into mischief, but we can’t imagine life without her.

3 days until Aspen’s Favourite Lakes turn 1!

IF
If the box is chewed to bits,
Rolley shredded it.
If a shoe is missing,
Rolley reorganized it.
If the insoles are nibbled on,
Rolley refitted them.
If the freshly made bed is rumpled,
Rolley rolled in it.
If the butter has teeth prints,
Rolley tasted it.
If the pea patch was raided,
Rolley was the raider.
If underwear is missing,
Rolley buried them out back.
If t-shirts have muddy footprints
Rolley signed them.
If the waterhose is now a sprinkler,
Rolley won the wrestling match.
If the sausage/cake/whatever is missing,
Rolley knows nothing about it.
If I’m hurrying to get home,
Rolley is waiting.
If the guy in the truck beside me is suddenly talking baby talk at us,
Rolley is riding shotgun.
If Oma is smiling and laughing,
Rolley is licking her fingers.
If the dishes/laundry aren’t done,
Rolley convinced me to play.
If a rough day just got better,
Rolley snuggled up & cuddled

If invitations always end with “bring Rolley”…..
If our house is full of life and laughter……
If our hearts have been stolen….

6 days until Aspen’s Favourite Lakes turn 1!

Tavie has been keeping us on our toes with all his exciting adventures and training sessions. And guess what? He’s become a total cuddle bug over the past few months! From his tiny, fluffy beginnings, he’s grown into a handsome toller. He absolutely loves the outdoors, especially swimming. If he can swim to get something, he’ll fetch it with all his might! He’s a quick learner and loves training. He even figured out how to outsmart us humans! Raising a puppy isn’t always breeze, but watching Tavish grow up and his unique personality shine through has been incredibly rewarding and heartwarming. He may be small, but he can have very big feelings! We can’t wait to embark on more adventures with the best bub!

7 days until Aspen’s Favourite Lakes turn 1!

Nugget has been adjusting well to the new addition of her baby brother. She prefers to also get attention at the same time so it can become a handful. She’s gained more confidence playing with bigger dogs. Nugget is a total foody, so it makes her super picky when it comes to eating her kibbles. She is always down to do tricks for you to see. She still isn’t the most cuddliest but she will be if she gets to sleep with us at night special days. Overall she’s well behaved and loves to play. Nugget also enjoyed her first snow fall and loved to play in it. She was definitely worth the wait!

9 days until Aspen’s Favourite Lakes turn 1!

I can’t believe it has already been a year with Mabel. She is still spicy and is getting more confident each day. Mabel has started agility with her brother Tuna and is making improvements each week. She has just learned how to do the teeter and A frame by herself. Mabel also got to experience the show ring for the first time. She loves to strut her stuff with Rhiannon. We hope to see the two of them back in the ring during 2025! Mabel has been to dance only once as she doesn’t understand the “sit quiet while everyone else has fun” idea yet. Mabel enjoys her mountain biking time with Tuna and Spice. For as much as she loves being covered in mud and crazy, she loves nothing better than to curl up in your lap or pillow and getting a good snuggle in. We all love the Mab’s and can’t imagine our life without her!

Unfortunately our last breeding did not go as planned so we do not have our Christmas litter this year. Hoping for more luck in the New Year!

Catching Up with Aspen’s Favourite Lakes, 8 months old!

- Hattrick’s ODR at Mabel Lake -

We have had Mabel for 7 months now, and she is a spicy little lady. We have nick named her the Mabel-ater as she has a magic ability to bring chaos to any situation. She has been a great addition to our family and is working hard to keep her siblings entertained 24 hours a day. We have been to 2 dog shows and attended a month of agility which was very fun, but Mabel couldn’t understand why she couldn’t just run around with Tuna. We are working on building confidence in new environments and situations, and she is VERY quickly figuring it all out. For as much as she loves being covered in mud and crazy, she loves nothing better than to curl up in your lap or pillow and getting a good snuggle in. We all love the Mab’s and can’t imagine our life without her!
