The Start of Saving Grace CBC
In 2017, we could feel God at work as we moved to a new home with lots of property. We were so grateful, and we felt compelled to take action to use this blessing in some way. After one visit to a local shelter, we knew that our calling was to use our property to work with rescued, abandoned, neglected, forgotten dogs. After adopting 2 rescues of our own and losing our sweet, 11 year old Schnauzer girl, Gracie, to bladder cancer, we decided to start our own rescue “one day.” As a year passed, we couldn’t shake the calling to do more with rescue. We adopted our third rescue, and had to acknowledge, we had a full house and full hearts. However, our desire to help more dogs in need persisted. Just before Christmas 2019, a situation presented itself, and our “one day” had arrived. We took in a small litter of lab pups, and worked hard to establish our rescue. In February 2020, we became a licensed non-profit animal shelter.
Our mission is to create the foundation for successful adoptions through time, training, and education. We provide vetting when needed, daily care, affection, and training to the dogs in our shelter. We take time to evaluate their behavior and personalities in an effort to pair them with the best possible forever family. We are funded solely by the generosity of the public through donations and grants that we are fortunate enough to awarded. All donations go directly to the care and operation of our rescue. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organziation, donations may be claimed as a tax deduction.
