2022 has thrown some curve balls our way, but this guy...well, he's a bright spot in many of our days. All he wants is a good sqeauky toy and the love of good people. If you're looking for a dog to build an unbreakable bond with, Apollo's your guy!
He's been through quite a bit in his 3 years of life, but he thrives on structure, routine, and consistent leadership. 2022 is going to be his year...we just know it! The perfect home is out there just waiting on him to make it complete. 💚

1st of all, I have no idea why Bear is still here, but I'm so glad he is...for now. 😉😆
2nd, check out this huge breakthrough for Tobi!
Both of these handsome boys are available for adoption. Bear is a 2 year old Catahoula, Lab, Hound Mix. He weighs approximately 60 pounds. He is chipped, neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, house broken on a routine, crate trained with a special condition 😏, and just all around wonderful! He's loving, loyal, and so handsome! He has been great with everyone and everything we've put him with. There isn't a mean bone in his body. He loves a good run off leash so a home with a fenced in yard would be idea. He's got hops so a tall fence or an in ground fence would be best. He loves to go for walks and snuggle...and steal all of the toys. He's food and praise motivated, but has a stubborn side. He makes up for it with kisses and cuteness though.
Tobias, aka Tobi, is a 1-2 year old Dutch Shepard mix. He weighs around 45 pounds. He's chipped, neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. He gets anxious in new settings and around new dogs. After he sees that they are not a threat, he's sweet, loving, and loyal. He will do best in a structured home that can provide ongoing training. He's done well when crated through working hours as well as through the night. He keeps his kennel clean when kept on a schedule. He really loves his people. A family who isn't away for excessive hours would be best as he does seem to show anxiety when away from people. We've observed him pacing in the outdoor kennel when we go inside.
If you are interested in meeting Bear or Tobi, please email us at [email protected], and visit our website www.SavingGraceCBC.org for more information about our adoption process. Our adoption fee is $350.

These sweet babes are on the move, and ready for more substantial feedings. THANK YOU to Randolph County Humane Society for sharing much needed resources to provide for these pups.
The support of local animal lovers never ceases to amaze me!

**Update: 08-15-21**
Thank you all for your kind words and generosity. We're breathing a little easier today after making it through our first night with these new additions. Momma is very protective of her pups when the other dogs are being moved in and out of our indoor kennels, but she's taken to Scott very well, thank goodness. She's being a wonderful momma, something else we're grateful for as we watch over them today. We will begin getting weights on each one today. We will monitor their weight each day to ensure healthy growth, supplement feeding when needed. This momma is not very big so we're expecting to start supplement feedings as soon as she will tolerate it. We will be adding supplements to her diet as well to ensure that she isn't depleted of the vitamins and nutrients she needs to be healthy. The formula and supplements that are provided add up quickly over the next few weeks, especially with this large of a litter so if you're able to donate or purchase one of our shirts to support the costs of caring for these babies over the next 3 months, please do. We couldn't save these pups without support from our Saving Grace community. ❤

This guy right here, he keeps US going when days get hard. He isn't afraid of a challenge, and jumps into situations with more faith than most can muster. We had been following Nova's story at Jefferson County Animal Control for a few weeks, keeping an extra close eye on her since finding out she was pregnant a few weeks ago. We technically were full with a dog in every kennel of the rescue...but, this guy set up our rescue with a modular set up that can be rearranged with a days work. When we found out that Nova had her babies, and no one came for her, THIS GUY went all in to get her and her babies out of Animal Control. He spent a day communicating with our AC wardens, an evening reorganizing our structure just enough to get us by for now, spent today at Market Days, and went this afternoon right after a long,
Gideon is ready to find his new family! This sweet guy is a 15 month old pekingese mix. He's only about 10 pounds. He appears to be low shedding based on our observations. He loves all things...people, kids, kitties, other dogs, and even tiny piggies. 😊 He does well keeping his kennel and crate clean, leading us to believe he would do just fine with housebreaking. He does a little nervous sprinkle when he's nervous, mostly when approached by someone or something new, but our vet said that will subside with confidence. Therefore, a family who is willing to take Giddy along on life adventures in public and work on building his confidence through routine and training would be best. He isn't afraid to run and explore so an outdoor containment system that will allow him to do both safely is ideal.
Gideon came to us with an unknown history. His hind legs are very wobbly. He's been evaluated by 3 local vets. Upon evaluation, xrays were taken and sent to a veterinary orthopedic surgeon at Mizzou. It was discovered that Gideon has dislocated hips, malformed tibial bones, and out of place knee caps. Surgery was not a promising option long term so the surgeon recommended against it. It has been said that even with surgery, he would eventually need the use of a wheelchair. But those wobbly legs aren't slowing this happy boy down! Check out the video below!
Our vet is looking into the possibility of braces for support. We are currently working with Gideon and a local rehab specialist to ensure that Gideon receives the best care possible. Continued physical therapy will be required to support proper usage of his joints and muscles.
Potential adopters need to consider the life long commitment to caring for this special needs pup. We encourage you to communicate with your vet about options for physical therapy prior to applying for Gideon. We will work closely with potential adopters long term to ensure as much information as possible is shared to best care for him.

Gideon Update:
We've been going to physical therapy to learn some skills to help support correct usage of his hind legs. This week, we did a little water therapy! He enjoyed himself the first bit. ❤
We're very proud of the progress he's making. He LOVES to run through the yard, play with other dogs, and pester the cats. He enjoys treats and a good dip in the water, which makes physical therapy a lot of fun with him.

Update on Gideon:
A few weeks ago, we visited a vet for a 2nd opinion on Gideon's condition, which led to an appointment for xrays last week. Upon analyzing the xrays, the vet noted that Gideon indeed has luxating patella, along with twisted, malformed tibial bones, and a lack of hip sockets. We can only wonder if he was born this way, or if human interaction had some sort of role in his condition. Due to the severity of his condition, we agreed to a referral at Mizzou for consideration for a full hip replacement. We were very hopeful, even in the face of extreme costs, that we could help Giddy have the best chance at repairing his hind end.
The xrays were sent over, and the vet at Mizzou relayed back that the hip replacement was not an option, and Giddy would likely end up in a wheel chair even after costly surgeries to repair his knees and tibial bones. We were very discouraged by this news, but grateful to know that his condition was evaluated by an expert in this field of veterinary medicine.
We are excited to report that he will be seen locally for a rehab consult this week. Our hope is to have a plan to ensure that he has whatever he needs to live a long, healthy life prior to his adoption.
For now, this little guy is very happy enjoying safe, loving care, and all the toys and treats he could want.
Stay tuned for more updates on Gideon!
