There is so much truth stated here!
With these heat waves continuing to hit our region, PAWS will certainly have more high power bills to come. Please consider supporting them!

This right here folks is our Ameren bill this month. Let me repeat — this is for 1 MONTH! 😱 This is not a sympathy post, more of an informative post. Yes, we are a 501c3 non-profit organaiztion. Yes, we have bills just like any other business. Sometimes our adoption fees are in question, and some tend to believe rescues charge those prices in order to “make money”. Our adoption fees (and other donations) are what keep our rescue alive and successful, so we can continue doing what we love — saving fur babies. ♥️ Our average adoption fee for a dog is $200, a cat $75 (some more, some less). These fees don’t even begin to cover vet bills on most. Rescues take a lot of time, energy, money, sweat, tears, and passion to run. We are SO VERY grateful for all of our followers and supporters, and that’s why we’re still standing! It takes a village, and we have the BEST! Thank you all. 🙏🏻🐾

Such a bittersweet day.
Today, we officially close the rescue by donating our remaining funds and supplies to Thomas Animal Hospital - Puggy Fund and Jefferson County Animal Control - Feral Cat fund.

We are forever grateful for these organizations.

Dr. Thomas made our work possible by taking us on as new clients in 2020. The tech staff has made themselves and every ounce of their knowledge available to us at all hours to ensure we could provide for every situation, from puppies eating things they shouldn't to being stung by a bee to runny poo to big dogs with anxiety, allergic reactions, and indescribable injuries. They were OUR saving grace the past two years. Scott and I count ourselves so lucky to know them, and we are blessed to be personal clients of both Dr. Thomas and Dr. Sneed.

Our favorite Jefferson County Animal Control warden, Stephanie Heyder, gave us undying support, pep talks, full honesty on dog evaluations, an inside view of the massive network she has developed to save dogs and cats across our Tri-State region, and friendship we never expected, but are insanely grateful for. And Martin Boykin gave her permission to go the extra 100 thousand miles she has to save animals and be the boss of a rescuer that she is! 😁😘 The word grateful doesn't seem to carry the weight of just how grateful we are to have worked so closely with our local animal control and develop these relationships.

We want to leave you with this...If you can adopt from an animal control facilty or rescue, ADOPT. If you can donate, DONATE. If you can volunteer, VOLUNTEER. Educate others on the dire need for these AMAZING animals to be blessed with loving and understanding homes. There is NOTHING on this earth like the love of a rescued animal that knows what life was like without a loving home and security. It's never easy, but we, as humans, were not created for easy.

We are so grateful to God for leading our hearts to this mission. He led through a season of growth via the rescue. Our hearts desires were met by His provision and grace. We are forever changed by this beautiful experience. It led us to big personal life decisions to have open hearts and deepened our level of compassion through loving man's best friend. We now know and understand the selfless love of being a rescuer. If you're ever given the opportunity to be a rescuer or support a rescuer, DO IT. Your heart will thank you.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. – 1 Peter 4:10

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. – Proverbs 3:27

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? – James 2:14-16

Blessed are those who have regard for the weak; the Lord delivers them in times of trouble. – Psalm 41:1

Let all that you do be done in love. – 1 Corinthians 16:14

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. – Galatians 5:13

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! - 2 Corinthians 9:6-8: 9:10-15

Tobi is our final rescue. He has been with us since June 2021. We have until this June 2022 to find him a home. This month is our last chance to save him.

He's a 2-3 year old shep mix, neutered and microchipped male. He's heavily anxious around most other dogs, and doesn't seem to know what to make of the cats and chickens. He either chases them or tries to stay away from them. He's a very smart guy who appreciates good pets and a good game of fetch. He's crate trained and will keep his crate clean when kept on a schedule.

Help us save this boy! Listen for more info in the videos posted below.

Hello! My name is Kelsei Green. I'm co-founder and operator of Saving Grace Canine Boot Camp, a licensed non-profit rescue in Mount Vernon, Illinois. My husband, Scott, and I have ran operations for the rescue since February 2020.

This fall, we received word that Scott's health is riddled with a degenerative disease that will require a major surgery by the end of spring this year. Awareness of the restrictions that will come following the recovery of this surgery has lead us to make the difficult decision to shut down our rescue.

Over the course of the past 2 years, we have taken in 63 dogs. With your help and the help of our network rescues, we've been able to successfully find them homes.

We currently have 3 remaining dogs that need help prior to June 2022; Apollo, Nova, and Tobias. Each is fully vetted, heartworm negative, and altered. They are just waiting on the right families to find them. Please help us find our final 3 loving homes. I've included descriptions of each in the captions. Email [email protected] for more information.

There's nothing quite like the love of a rescue dog. ❤

Last weekend, Nico met his new mom, dad, and big sister, Bella! We are so happy to announce that he quickly adapted to his new family, and loves to play with his big sister. ❤️

We're so grateful Rick and Jenny chose to give this spunky, sweet rescue pup a loving home. 🐶❤ Nothing but happy days ahead for our happiest boy!

2022 has thrown some curve balls our way, but this guy...well, he's a bright spot in many of our days. All he wants is a good sqeauky toy and the love of good people. If you're looking for a dog to build an unbreakable bond with, Apollo's your guy!

He's been through quite a bit in his 3 years of life, but he thrives on structure, routine, and consistent leadership. 2022 is going to be his year...we just know it! The perfect home is out there just waiting on him to make it complete. 💚

Our Bear Boy is home!! 😭❤
He came in our care 363 days ago as a wild man who jumped above our heads and nearly pulled us to our faces on leash. He stayed with us through 5 months of heartworm treatment. He made friends with several of our rescue dogs and even our own pack, and completely won our hearts through his tremendous progress and sweet disposition. We've loved him big this last year, through every up and down. Now, he's home. This handsome boy gets to grow old surrounded by the best family. ❤

Tina, you and your crew are absolutely amazing! Thank you just doesn't say enough to express our gratitude for giving this stubborn, sweet love bug a home to be cherished in. We can't wait to hear about all of the tricks he learns and the spoiled days ahead!

Ps...I may have cried most of the way home, but goodness what happy tears they were. My heart is full knowing my favorite boy is home. 🐶🧡

Momma Nova is looking for an experienced Shepherd family to give her a life full of love and security.

Nova is a 2 year old spayed female Dutch Shepherd. She's petite for her breed, weighing just over 50 pounds. She's extremely intelligent, loves people, and gets along well with friendly dogs.

As a working breed, her perfect home would be capable of providing her with mentally stimulating activities, plenty of exercise, and a secure location for outdoor play.

Email [email protected] for adoption application if interested in meeting her. Adoption information can be found on our website www.SavingGraceCBC.org.

Apollo, 3 year old neutered male Pittie mix, approximately 55 pounds, eager to please his humans, thrives off of relationships balanced in affection and respect. This guy is another SGCBC favorite. His tough guy exterior masks a big sweetheart who wants nothing more than a family to provide him with love and security....and a good ball. He will require a foster home that is able to provide routine, structure, and continued training because he loves to show off his smarts. He would do best in a household with older kids to help reinforce manners and boundaries. He wouldn't do well in a household with other pets. He tolerates cats just fine, but dogs make him very anxious. He becomes jealous when sharing his people so a confident family capable of providing loving structure for him would be best. Bonus: He's housebroken! ❤

This hap, hap, happy guy is Nico! He's looking for a best friend to take him home!

This 50 pound pittie boy loves to play. He'll play with his people, with other dogs, with kitties, or all my himself. He doesn't like to be pushed around by other dogs, but get along great with pups who want to be friends. He's basically a HUGE puppy when it comes to manners. A firm leader who understands his happy spirit would suit him best. We do not recommend a house with small children due to his puppy like spirit, though he's listened very well when on leash with children. Older children would do just fine with him. This boy loves a comfy bed, a good chewy toy, and to play tug with his favorite people.

If you're in the market for a new best friend, message us about this guy! Email: [email protected]

ADOPTED 😭❤

Bear Boy has been with us for a year this January. He will be the longest resident of Saving Grace since we started...and WOW, what a difference the year has made for this handsome guy. He's the best boy...his perfect family just hasn't found him yet. ❤

He loves everyone and everything. He hasn't met a dog or cat he doesn't like...chickens peek his interest so he may not do so well with feathery friends, but other than that, he's golden. He keeps his kennel clean, loves toys and walks, and really loves snuggles.

He requires a secure outdoor area with enough room to run freely as he loves to bolt through the yard with zoomies a few times a day. Overall, he's a pretty easy keeper. ❤

Message us or email us at [email protected] for an adoption application and terms of adoption. Our adoption fee is $350. Let's help this amazing guy find his forever.

We had a special delivery from our friends, the Maberrys, today! The pups were so excited to get their new toys, Nico could barely contain himself. We filled their new tires with treats, and let them have fun! Tomorrow, we'll be assembling their cots and passing out the warm blankets included in this gift.

There's something to be said about our supporters...they're simply the best.

It never fails, when our spirits are being challenged by difficult situations in the rescue, we receive an unexpected blessing through the mail that gives us this boost to keep our heads up and keep going. Saving Grace is so much bigger than us...it's about you, too! The support you provide to save these loyal pups means the world to us and them. ❤

Thanks to our continued supporters for the regular boosts of encouragement to keep pushing through the heartbreaks, the fears, and the uncertainties.

The Start of Saving Grace CBC

In 2017, we could feel God at work as we moved to a new home with lots of property. We were so grateful, and we felt compelled to take action to use this blessing in some way. After one visit to a local shelter, we knew that our calling was to use our property to work with rescued, abandoned, neglected, forgotten dogs. After adopting 2 rescues of our own and losing our sweet, 11 year old Schnauzer girl, Gracie, to bladder cancer, we decided to start our own rescue “one day.” As a year passed, we couldn’t shake the calling to do more with rescue. We adopted our third rescue, and had to acknowledge, we had a full house and full hearts. However, our desire to help more dogs in need persisted. Just before Christmas 2019, a situation presented itself, and our “one day” had arrived. We took in a small litter of lab pups, and worked hard to establish our rescue. In February 2020, we became a licensed non-profit animal shelter.

Our mission is to create the foundation for successful adoptions through time, training, and education. We provide vetting when needed, daily care, affection, and training to the dogs in our shelter. We take time to evaluate their behavior and personalities in an effort to pair them with the best possible forever family. We are funded solely by the generosity of the public through donations and grants that we are fortunate enough to awarded. All donations go directly to the care and operation of our rescue. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organziation, donations may be claimed as a tax deduction.
