Find your happiness!
To no surprise at all, I have been slacking on the videos as of late. We’ve been busy turning pets into duck getters.
Anyways, here’s a short clip of the early stages of stopping on a whistle, taking hand signals and eventually running blind retrieves.
At the end of the day, all we need is the dog to trust that we are going to steer them in the right direction 🦆
Good dogs and good people
Wilson is off the table and into the next steps of our program. He’s just over a year old and going to make a great hunting companion 🦆
My goal is to post more raw videos on here for all age level dogs. Here is Zoe, at the beginning of the obedience process. She is 10 weeks old and will be with us until October in our full gun dog program.
Outside of this, she is constantly getting socialized, working on crate training, and having a blast with puppy marks. Just building a strong foundation!
Side note, our garage is a mess right now. We are in the middle of transitioning homes. The next will be even better for our retrievers!
Back at ya from the pattern blind field with my below average commentary. Point is, we are teaching younger dogs to fight factors and push further. This setup in particular includes a 206 yard white bucket pattern blind with a slight terrace and relatively large side hill, along with a 136 yard straight forward pattern blind. Notice the verbiage I use to indicate distance on blind retrieves as well as promoting good line manners. Have I mentioned how great this Iowa weather has been? Surely we will have a snow storm before long I would imagine.
These lil black dogs aren’t ready to be done for the year and neither are we
