Conceived in 2011 by Canadian filmmakers Patricia Sims and Michael Clark of Canazwest Pictures, and Sivaporn Dardarananda, Secretary-General of the Elephant Reintroduction Foundation in Thailand, it was officially founded, supported, and launched by Patricia Sims and the Elephant Reintroduction Foundation.

ග්‍රිෆින්....

ග්‍රිරිෆින්ගෙ රාජකාරිය තමයි එයාගෙ ස්වාමිදුව බලා කියා ගැනීම. මුල්ම හමුවීම වෙද්දි අවුරුදු දාසයක් වුණු එයාගෙ ස්වාමි දුවට උපතින්ම ඇවිදින්න බෑ.
ඇඳත් ..රෝද පුටුවත් අතර සීමා වුණු ඒ තරුණ ගෑණු දරුවට සීමා මායිම් බිඳගෙන යන්න පාර පෙන්නුවේ ග්‍රිෆින්.

මේ දෙන්න ලඟම යාළුවො වෙන්න ගතවුනේ දවස් ගාණක් විතරයි. කොලීජියේ ඉඳල විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයටත්.. එතනින් පශ්චාත් උපාධිය හදාරන දේශණ ශාලාවලටත් තමන්ගෙ මිතුරියව එක්කන් ගියේ එයා තමයි.

කැන්ටිමට ගියත්.. වැසිකිලියට ගියත් ... එලිපහලියේ ඇවිදින්න ගියත් ග්‍රිෆින් හැමතිස්සෙම එයාගෙ යාළුවා එක්කමයි.

මුලින්ම දොරවල් විවෘත්ත කරන්න.. බිමට වැටෙන දේ අහුලල දෙන්න.. ආරක්ශාවට හා තනිකමට ලඟින් ඉන්න වගේ දේ තමා ග්‍රිෆින්ට රාජකාරි විදිහට පැවරුනේ.

ඒත් කල් යද්දි .. ශීතකරණය විවෘත්ත කරල බීම බෝතල් ගෙනත් දෙන්න.. පාඩම් කරන්න පාන්දර නැගිටින වෙලාව මතක් කරන්න... ඇඳුම් .. සපත්තු ලඟට ගෙනත් දෙන්න මේ වගේ බොහෝ දේ ඉටුවෙන්නෙ මේ අදරණීය මිත්‍රයා අතින්.
කිසිම දවසක දේශණ ශාලාවලදි පොඩි සද්දයක්වත්.. පොඩි බාධා කිරීමක්වත් ග්‍රිෆින්ගෙන් වෙන්නෙ නෑ.

ඔක්කොම උපාධි අපේක්ශකයන්ගෙත්.. කථිකාචාර්‍ය වරුන්ගෙත්.. දකින ..මුණගැහෙන හැමෝගෙමත් ලඟම මිත්‍රයෙක් වෙන්න මෙයාට වැඩි කාලයක් ගත වෙන්නෙ නෑ...

“ග්‍රිෆින් නැත්තං .. මම මෙලහට ගෙදර අඳුරු මුල්ලක ටීවී එක දිහා බලාගෙන ඉන්න නිකම්ම නිකං ගෑනියෙක් විතරයි..”.

“එයා මට ලෝකෙට විවෘත්ත වෙන දොර පෙන්නුවා.. අණතුරු වලින් මාව බේර ගත්ත. පාඩම් කරන්න පාන්දර දෙකට නැගිට්ට්වන්න ඇඳට පැන්න විතරක් නෙවේ... මම පාඩම් කරන කල් කවදාවත් පාඩම් මේසෙ ලඟින් හෙලවුනේ නෑ.”

“අනික් බල්ලන්.. බලු පැටවුන් සෙල්ලම් කරද්දි ඒ දිහා ටික වෙලාවක් බලාගෙන හිටිය මිසක් කිසිම දවසක ඒ අය එක්ක සෙල්ලමට ගියේ නෑ... “
“කොටින්ම ග්‍ර්ෆින් නැත්තං මං අද මෙතන නෑ.”

මෙහෙම කියන්නෙ ග්‍රිෆින්ගෙ සේවා දායකය එයාගෙ පශ්චාත් උපාධිය ලබාගත් මොහොතේ.”

මෙන්න මේ කරුණු ඔක්කොම සලකල තමයි ..නිව් යෝක් නගරයේ ක්ලැක්සෝන් විශ්ව විද්‍යාලය ග්‍රිෆින්ට ගෞරවනීය පශ්චාත් උපාධිය පිරිනමන්න තීරණය කලේ.

“ඒ උපාධිය නාමික ගෞරව උපාධියක් විතරක් වෙන්න බෑ.. ග්‍රිෆින් හැමදාම දේශණ වලට ආව.

හැමදාම දේශණ අහගෙන උන්න... ඉතින් එයාට අයිතියක් තියනව උපාධිය ගන්න.”
මෙහෙම කියන්නෙ එයත් එක්ක උපාධිය ලබාගත් අනිත් ශිෂ්‍ය ශිෂ්‍යාවන්.
ග්‍රිෆින් හා එයාගෙ මිතුරිය දෙන්නම උපාධිය ලබාගත්තෙ එකම දවසෙ.

සමහර රටවල දහයෙ පන්තිය දක්වා විතරක් ගිය දේශපාලකයන්ගෙ දරුවන්ට ආචාර්‍ය උපාධි පිරිනමල අධ්‍යාපන හෑල්ලු කරන යුගයක ග්‍රිෆින්ට ලැබුණු උපාධිය නම් අගය කල යුතුමයි.

ග්‍රිෆින් කොලීජියේ ඉඳල .. විශ්ව විද්‍යාලය දක්වා හැමදාම දේශණ වලට ගියා.. තමන්ගෙ හැදියාවයි.. හැකියාවයි හැමෝටම පේන්න ඉඩ හැරියා වැඩි සද්දයක් නැතුව.

ඉතින් මේ උපාධියට එයාට ඕනෑවටත් වඩා සුදුසුකම් තියනව.

ග්‍රිෆින් නිකම්ම නිකං ගෝල්ඩන් රිත්‍රීවර් කෙනෙක් නෙවේ... උගතෙක්... මිත්‍රයෙක්... ආදරණීය මග පෙන්වන්නෙක්.

ක්ලැක්සෝන් විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයටත්.. ග්‍රිෆින්ටත්.. එයාගෙ මිතුරියටත් සුභ පැතුම්.

මත්තේගොඩ නිවාස සංකීර්ණයේ වසා දමා තිබූ නිවසක් තුළ දින හතක් පමණ නිරාහාරව විලාප නගමින් සිටි සුනඛයන් දහ හතක් බළලුන් විසි දෙනෙක් සහ ඉබ්බකු පොලිසිය මැදිහත්ව ඉවතට ගෙන ආහාර පාන ලබා දීමේ පුවතක් වාර්තා වනවා.

නිවාස සංකීර්ණයේ අඩි 330ක් පමණ කුඩා නිවසක් තුළ මෙම සතුන් සිරවී නිරාහාරව සිට ඇත්තේ එම නිවසේ සිටි කාන්තාවන් දෙදෙනා කොවිඩ් ආසාදිතව අසාධ්‍ය තත්වයෙන් රෝහල්ගතව පසුවන නිසායි.

මෙසේ සතුන් නිරාහාරව දින ගණනාවක් විලාප නගමින් නිවසක් තුළ සිරවී සිටින බවට ලද තොරතුරක් අනුව සත්ත්වවේදිනියක් විසින් එම නිවසේ නෑදෑයන්ගෙන් මෙම සතුන් සතුන්ට ආහාර ලබා දීමේ අවස්ථාව ඉල්ලා තිබෙනවා
