It seems Miss Troll is willing to tolerate the babies if they stay out of her feeder. Giving them the corn log on the picnic table is a good way to compromise. ;)

It's time for fall babies! ^_^ There are at least four in the yard. This little girl likes the taste of maple leaves. I was thinking about naming them after spices because they've all got vibrant brown and orange fur, but maybe Maple is more fitting in her case. Her coat does look like maple syrup!

Introducing... the Troll! Yes, that is actually what I call her. :P She's a little thing, not much more than a baby (I think she's one of Orchid's), but has taken over the feeder! When I walk out and she happens to be there, she will stand her ground and even growl at me! I've never seen such a bold squirrel. Of course I pretend to act afraid and steer clear of her. ;) She reminds me of a grouchy troll under a bridge.

This video is a little different since it was recorded on a trail camera. Here you can see Orchid sniffing around until she finds a buried peanut which she proceeds to dig up and eat. :P

It was only after reviewing the photos I took this morning that I realized one of the visitors to the new feeder was a lot tinier than the others. ^_^ Even the littlest squirrels love their peanuts!
