Today I am not okay....but I am ready to speak about my devastating, unexpected, loss of my baby girl Pebble's....On Sunday I purchase a new bag of Purina puppy food....Monday I opened it and fed it to Pebble's and a few other dog's....that afternoon/evening 5 of my pup's had severe vomiting that lasted until the night/until they had nothing left to throw up. I withheld food that night. In the morning everyone seemed to be feeling okay, except for Pebble's. She was lethargic. I gave her some meds for nausea with some gastrointestinal wet food and syringed 15 mls of water down. I went to work and planned to come home on my break to feed her some more GI food and see how she was feeling.....when I got home a little after 12, she was lying on her side, could not stand or lift her head. I got her out and tried to get her to respond, but it was too late. I contacted Purina, they did not give a damn....they said they do not have any recalls on their food, but they should. I would rather deal with a company that takes these complaints seriously and looks into it, instead of one that denies anything is wrong. I am sending a sample of the food out to as many organizations as I can. I am also getting a necropsy on my pet. If there's something in the food that's making pet's sick, I need to find out so no other pet's get sick or loose their lives. Pebble's was only 4 year's old, and didn't deserve to loose her life over a bad batch of food that Purina refused to take off the shelf.
