Cave Lepus Rabbitry fanciers of rex, mini Rex, and velveteen lop rabbits. Working on a project breed for my herd. We will meet with you off-site.

-Prices are non-negotiable.

Please review our sales policy in its entirety before reaching out in regards to one of our rabbits. This has a lot of information that is important to you as a potential future member of the Cave Lepus family!

-All sales are final, and refunds will not be given unless an issue is confirmed genetic.

-We do work with transport where our schedule allows, as long as the drop off location is within

30 miles of Adrian, Michigan. I will need 2 weeks' notice of transport dates so I can schedule the time with my job.

-I will only be reaching out twice to check if you're still purchasing an unpaid rabbit before I move down the list.

-If you have purchased a pet, and no longer wish to care for them, they are welcome to return to us, but I will not be offering refunds for "buyer's remorse".

-Rabbits will not be sold in multiples to pet homes without proof of previous experience.

-We do not recommend cohabitation unless one or both rabbits are sterilized.

-While we support youth breeders, we will not be selling to anyone under the age of 18. Please talk to us about pricing for 4H exhibitors!

-We are a closed rabbitry for the safety and security of our herd and family. We accept cash, paypal, and fb pay. Pricing starts at 50 for pets and is adjusted accordingly by quality and breed.

-We do not guarantee a rabbits show/breeding results; especially if purchased prior to physical maturity.

-Rabbits will NOT be available for pickup prior to 8 weeks of age, NO EXCEPTIONS.

-We require a 50% deposit to hold the rabbit of your choice, we only hold the rabbit for a maximum time period of 2 weeks unless other arrangements have been made. Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE. EXCEPT if the animal falls sick or passes in our care between deposit and pick up. Rabbits held longer than two weeks may be charged boarding at my discretion. THE EXCEPTION: rabbits who will be going on transport will need to be paid in full.

-You cannot change the rabbit’s prefix and it must remain on the pedigree as is. If purchasing a kit, the prefix "DWB's" will be included, but space will be left for you to fill in the name after our prefix.

-Once the rabbit leaves our care, we do not guarantee health. Rabbits sold will be healthy to the best of our knowledge, as we do not knowingly sell sick animals. Any known issues will be disclosed prior to purchase, issues may be defects or injuries that do not significantly diminish the animal’s quality of life. We will not sell anything with a communicable illness.

-We are not responsible for any vet costs after the rabbit has been sold. You are encouraged to thoroughly examine the rabbit at the time of sale to ensure health.

-We have the right to cancel or refuse a sale for whatever reason!

-All rabbits will come tattooed and with their pedigree to the best of our knowledge. (This is for rabbits we've purchased and are rehoming that may not have a pedigree) A sample sized bag of the current food will be included at pickup.

-You will need to bring your own carrier to pick up your rabbit. It doesn’t have to be fancy, it just has to contain the rabbit safely.

-We are happy to offer lifetime breeder support. If you have a question about your Cave Lepus rabbit, please reach out to us!

We're gonna talk about something "weird" for a minute:
This is Buttered Toast. He is a soft (pet) cull for the same reason he is wearing that fetching and fashionable cone of shame.
You see, he has/had a lot of saggy skin for a sc***um, to the point where the poor guy was standing on them and getting pressure sores from it! During the pre-surgical physical, the vet confirmed my suspicions that it wasn't going to be a run of the mill neuter, and that he would need an ablation to remove the extra skin as well for maximum quality of life.

He came through his surgery well, they sent him home with a cone that he refuses to keep on (pictured), so I decided to make him a surgical suit from a onesie instead, and we'll see how that does for him. He will also have a few days of metacam, and I have critical care on hand to make sure he's getting something in his tummy to keep things moving.

I'm hoping to dedicate some time today to sorting through my herd. I've been talking about stepping back from Velveteen lops for over a month and would like to get focused on doing so.

I will have a little bit of everything from pets to potentially show quality that will be up for discussion. I have mostly shaded rabbits in my lines, and have produced smoked agouti and chinchilla.

I cannot meet with transport at this time.

Rabbitry update:
I will be bringing most of my Brits, and some of my Velveteen lops to the May 13 show in Alma in order to move everyone along.

Right now, while Velveteens are still my heart breed, I'm finding myself struggling to find joy in them. I can't fix width issues without access to new genetics, and I'm also starting to lose my beautiful ears. So I'm taking a break for a bit.

I may go back to working on my personal project, or, I may stick to producing groceries.

Located in Adrian, MI:
Hoagie is looking for a new sandwich shop. He is companion quality: he lacks any width to his loin, and I don't foresee him filling out in any favorable way.
But he is very friendly and sweet!

We may be able to work with transport!

Our Velveteens wear an xxs dog sweater (usually the same size as cats), so when I found this cute hoodie at Target earlier, I couldn't pass it up for future photo shoots!

I have a velveteen lop buck who is looking for a family to call his own. He's an absolute doll, but conformationally is not something that should be reproduced, so he would only be PQ.

His name is Bug (love bug, cuddle bug etc), and he's a black tort. PM me for more details!

We're planning on attending the August 27th show in Corunna, Michigan.
We will have some rabbits looking for new accommodations, as well as some velveteen lops and Britannia petites to put on the tables!

We hope to see you there!
