It has become increasingly evident that shelters are overwhelmed and rescues are being forced to close. The underlying issue: human accountability. Securing a forever home for a rescue animal can be likened to online dating, where visual appeal often supersedes a thorough review of the profile. Finding a suitable match is frequently a challenging and arduous process.

Sunday nights with the pups! Harley and Blue are still seeking their forever homes!
Harley- is a 4 year old boxer schnauzer mix, fixed, good with other animals but is food aggressive and will surf counters if you leave anything close enough for him!
Blue- 4 years old, assuming he is a corgi mix- this guy is good with other animals, a lover for sure, he requires someone willing to be patient with him as he adjusts to new surroundings.

Our brave boy Worf continues to make strides on his recovery journey! This week, he has a very important meeting that could change his life forever. 🐾 While we can’t spill the details just yet, let’s just say… you might want to check back with us next Sunday for some exciting news!

In the meantime, Worf has been busy exploring the backyard and using his charm to convince his foster brothers and sisters to play. 🐕🎾 His resilience and playful spirit continue to inspire everyone around him!

Today marks 1 year that Tootsie Roll has been with us. 1 year that she has been looking for her home. 1 year that she has been overlooked. Tootsie is a happy, energetic and loving girl. She loves everyone and everything. Yes she has and wears a diaper but no mobility issues what so ever. I'm hoping there is someone in NorCal who is looking for a fun and loving

This is the unfortunate reality. There are too many dogs, there are too many French Bulldogs in need. There aren't enough homes, and there aren't enough donations.

Rescues cannot keep up.

Temporary homes urgently needed! Our shelter is stretched far beyond capacity, and we want to give our dogs a better place to be for the holiday. If you can foster a dog for at least two weeks, we will be holding a drive-thru dog pickup event this Sunday 11/24 from 12pm-4pm. We’ll ask you some questions about what you’re looking for, and bring out a dog we think will be a good match. We mostly have large dogs, though there will be a handful of small dogs available. Please share - this girl deserves her safe space!

Our is Maybelline. There is no adoption fee for Pet of the Week to approved homes.

Maybelline is a German shepherd mix and approximately a year old. She weighs 27lbs and had a rough start in an abusive situation. Despite this, Maybelline is strong, resilient, and as happy as can be. She absolutely loves people.

Maybelline is blind and has brain injuries so has some challenges getting around. She tends to wobble when she walks due to her spinal injury. Boots on her back feet help with avoiding losing her footing.

Maybelline is great with cats and very friendly with other dogs. Smaller breeds may need to be protected simply because she can trample them in her chaotic walking (and she can't see where she's going). She loves to chew on toys and bones and loves play time.

Maybelline has had difficulties with potty training due to her cognitive and physical challenges. Diapers have helped in the meantime. Maybelline loves food and has a great diet. She doesn't go on typical walks but loves to go to the park where she can sniff and explore at her own pace.

Blue, a resilient companion, has triumphed over a challenging week! His previous owner was unable to provide a suitable environment or address his needs, resulting in his release onto the streets. Fortunately, one of my clients intervened and sought assistance in securing a permanent home for him! Key discoveries about Blue include: he is four years old, excels with children, coexists harmoniously with cats, and is adapting to dogs. He is house trained, leash trained, and requires support to overcome initial anxieties such as specific jumps and floor vents.

If anyone knows of someone willing to temporarily foster/ foster/ or foster-to-adopt please let me know…
