This season, our shelter animals could use a little extra love. We’re asking our amazing community if you’d like to give the gift of supplies for at our animal shelter.
We would be so grateful for donations of the following items to help keep our animals and staff, safe, comfortable, and cared for this holiday season. 💜🎄

Recycled Pets NorCal- this sweet pup is available to find their new home - but food, treats, toys and a share would definitely help get this pup their Christmas wish!

Well we have had several false starts for adoptions so now we are needing more puppy supplies! Food and puppy pads specifically, but you can find the wish list in the comments or on our profile.

🎄Give a shelter dog a temporary home for the holidays!

If you can take a medium or large dog for at least a couple weeks, it would be a huge help and can change everything for a dog in need of some cheer. We provide supplies, medical care and support - all you need is a home and a little love to spare. ❤️🐶

This Saturday, December 20 you can either:

🚶 Walk in to pick up between 1:00–3:00 PM.

We'll ask you some questions and choose a dog that will be the best fit for your home and lifestyle. If you decide not to choose the dog we pick, no problem! You must live within 30 minutes of Sacramento to foster.

Bamboo is a 13 years old poodle-ish mix looking for his forever home. He has a big heart, a sweet soul and a bit of a jealous streak (when other dogs try to steal his spotlight).

Bamboo is great on leash, loves snuggling and treats. He's mostly potty trained, neutered and fully vaccinated. His teeth had to be extracted due to poor care before coming to Umbrella of Hope but he's feeling much better now.

Bamboo has Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca (KCS), which means dry eye. This is a lifetime issue and he will need drops the rest of his life, twice a day. He has a heart murmur which will need regular vet visits to monitor, but no medicine needed at this time. Bamboo will also need grooming every 6-8 weeks.

Free dog and cat adoptions through the rest of November! 🐶🐈

More animals arrive as strays every single day, and our shelter is already completely full. To keep saving lives, we need to make space. All adoption fees are waived for every adoptable dog and cat, both in the shelter and in foster care. Every pet goes home spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

We have over a hundred dogs and dozens of cats of all sizes, personalities, and breeds waiting to meet you. Our adoption counselors are here 12–5 daily to help you find your perfect match.
