We are beyond full with zero help
Copied and shared. Well said.
Dear General Public/pet owners. I'd like to share with you what is going on in the shelter/rescue world. 🐾
🚨 Over the past several years everyone has been all about "no kill" shelters and rescues have worked endless hours, (many without pay or appreciation) shuffling dogs and cats out of shelters and into (hopefully) reputable rescues in search of homes for all the unwanted pets.
🚨 All while the general public takes all this for granted and still being as irresponsible and putting forth no effort to HELP remain no kill.
🚨 Fast forward to 2022, rescues are FULL, shelters are FULL, fosters are FULL, spay neuter appointments are hard to get and people are still allowing their pets to reproduce in record numbers.
👉 What does that mean for the animals? Shelters? Rescues? It means this........no kill will not be a common thing much longer.
🚨 When shelters fill and there is no where to go because rescues are full and people keep coming in claiming to find "pick a number" of dogs or cats "on the side of the road" as strays and walking away just assuming that the exhausted staff in the understaffed shelter will fix it, well they are wrong.
🚨 Some things can't be "fixed" if YOU, the public doesn't start taking responsibility.
🚨 YOU are the ones euthanizing innocent and unwanted pets. The shelter carries the burden and the heartache. That just isn't fair.
🚨 If you can't take responsibility for a pet, DON'T GET ONE. If you can't spay and neuter, DON"T have a pet.
🚨 Stop senseless breeding of dogs and cats
🚨 Many shelters WILL lose their no kill status to no fault of their own, If you can't be responsible then consider a pet rock.
Educate yourself and those around you😘
