Very impressed with our new layers! Left is from our Silverdudd’s Blue pullet & right from our Blue Copper Marans pullet. Both came to us as chicks from Alchemist Farm & Garden!

Our beautiful little Splash Silverdudd’s Blue started laying the cutest little pullet egg. She’s a keeper! Now to give her a name!

We enjoyed walking through fields & gardens filled with beautiful dahlias this past weekend at the Swan Island 2024 Annual Dahlia Festival at Swan Island Dahlias. Enjoyed it so much we barely took any pictures.

It’s Spring, the weather is warming, chicks are growing & so is the garden! I’m in my element! I’m in my homesteading era!

Jen tried her hand at capturing the beautiful egg colors we’re getting this season. They say it’s best to try & capture their true colors on an overcast day in natural light. You can zoom in to see the beautiful speckles on many of them. Pictures just don’t do them justice!

New life at the Little Deuce Coop!

Fun with the new chicken feeder install this past weekend. We increased our feeder capacity from 45 lbs to 105 lbs! This will lighten some of our load refilling feed throughout the week! We also added another waterer going from 10 gal capacity to 15!

Glamour shots with P. Sausage “Sage” our little crazy one! She’s a Golden Laced Polish. She lays the cutest little white eggs in a tree instead of in the nest boxes like the rest of her flock. She flies the fence every day to visit the goats & chickens at our tolerant neighbors house. She’s a wild one, this girl! She’s 8 months old.
