Why learning body language is important. Pineapple (3 yom) and Fessik (20 mom) will play like this for hours. Should I say stop or one is not into it it play stops. They play rough but both are involved, tails and ears are up. Noise doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem

About Maelstrom Malamutes

Maelstrom Alaskan Malamutes is a working and show-quality breeding kennel based out of Washington and Southern Colorado. Our goal is to breed beautiful, conformationally correct Alaskan Malamutes that do the job that they are born to do: pulling. Our malamute teams run hundreds of miles every year, and prove that they work well in a harness before we begin breeding them. If they are not good sled dogs, then they are not bred.

We also show our dogs in AKC confirmation events, and most of our dogs hold champion titles in addition to their working titles. We are also proud members of the Alaskan Malamute Club of America.

Why do we show? We want to continue to keep true, working Alaskan Malamutes in front of the judges and prove our dogs against other examples of the breed.

We only breed once or twice a year with the purpose of improving our own lines. We occasionally will have puppies available for approved homes. If you are interested in getting a puppy from Maelstrom, please contact us for more information. We may also have adult dogs available who have already proven themselves on the team and in the ring and are ready to spend the rest of their life lazing on the couch.
