A little something lovely to lift us all up and remind us why we do what we do 🐾❤️

At the 2022 Oscars, actress Jamie Lee Curtis did something unforgettable — she walked the red carpet not with a designer bag, but with a rescue puppy named Mac in her arms. Her goal was simple: to shine a spotlight on shelter dogs and encourage adoption over buying from breeders.

Mac had been rescued from the streets, with no home, no family — just a hopeful heart. But his life changed in the most magical way. At the end of the ceremony, actor John Travolta approached Jamie and said something that would change Mac’s fate forever:
“I want to adopt him.”

And just like that, Mac had a new dad — and a new life.

A year later, John shared photos of Mac, now a joyful, playful pup, living his best life surrounded by love. His eyes shine with happiness, his tail wags with purpose, and his journey from street dog to Hollywood royalty is a beautiful reminder: every dog deserves a chance.

We have a new fundraising auction page! You will be invited to join - once you join, please invite all your friends and family - the more items we can auction off and the more bids made means more money to help more pups! The first auction will start this Saturday...more info to come!

How does the auction work?

You post a photo of your goods with a description and starting price (nothing below $5) and from there, others bid on the item in the comments and at the end of the auction date/time, the highest bidder will be the winner.

They will notified on the same page with SODR's banking details. Once paid, send a screenshot to the seller and arrange to pick up your items.

The money raised goes to SODR  helping other dogs and you get something cool to keep or the knowledge you have made a difference (and cleared out your cupboards)

How can you help?  (once the auction starts) Post items, bid on items you like and invite your friends who you think would love to be involved.
It's fun and it really does make a difference! 🐾

I learn from rescue daily..so very sadly, one of my beautiful carers dogs passed from this..just sharing so information is there..just in case
