3 weeks old and the puppies can now support their own weight. They are still navigating movements but ready to explore the world around them. Their baby teeth have come through and they are eating other food other than their mother’s milk. It is crazy how quickly they grow and change.

When you get knocked down you get up again. Never give up, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and see the good all around you. Please welcome our newest Girl to the family. Little Mook! What a sweet girl she is too. On Tuesday we picked up Little Mook from the airport in Rockhampton. She had a massive day but was very well looked after by our beautiful friend Jen Alltag from Jen’s Puppy taxi and then the great team at #baycitypettravel and #virginaustralia. We now have Mook home with us and getting to know her. She loves a chicken wing or two. She is great on the lead and enjoyed our morning walk today. She is slowly being introduced to the rest of the family. My Granddaughters told me she will make beautiful speagle puppies. I think they are right. #chocolate #chocolateroan #welcometothefamily

Lost Pet

Update- Roo is now safely home with her family. We found out not only was Roo’s microchip not transferred but she was also rehomed early this year. I was able to get the new owners details and make contact with her. I assisted her with the microchip transfer so Roo will be safe should she find herself lost again. I know I’m not alone when I say how heartbreaking it would be if one of my dogs went missing and there was no way of tracking her. The invention of microchipping has definitely helped the process of getting lost pets back to their owners. When I first started breeding until mid last year I had to rely on new owners to complete the transfer process and in some cases it never happened. This morning I received a phone call from North Lakes Pet Emergency Clinic informing me of a lost Speagle in their care. She is not injured thankfully. Unfortunately as her microchip hasn’t been transferred the call has come through to me. I was able to go through my records and make a match. I was able to pass on the details to the vet and hopefully they have better luck contacting the owners than I did. It is really important to check that the microchip details are correct and updated if you move too. #microchipping #microchipped #findyourwayhome

Even with six week old puppies it is not to early to start teaching them. We have been working on “sit” for a pat and they are so clever. They are getting it. We need to be consistent and reward when the behaviour is exhibited. They are not fond of liver treats yet but they just love attention and pats.
