Just a sweet memory🫶

Living on the land inherently involves experiencing loss, particularly with livestock and wildlife susceptible to illness, drought, and accidents. I never anticipated, however, a day as catastrophic as Tuesday. A brown snake claimed the lives of my three beloved dogs, 2 who were nearing the end of their gestation periods, approximately two to three weeks from whelping. I am utterly heartbroken. While tempted to abandon everything, my resilience prevails. After a temporary pause, I will resume operations, and those on my waiting lists will receive updates via email. I extend my gratitude to my son and daughter-in-law for their support during this difficult time. 🌈 Rest easy my girls. Nat, Zoe and Mary. You will never be forgotten and may you all share a juicy bone with Floyd. Tell him I miss him everyday as I will miss each of you. Thank you for the joy you shared with us all. 🩷🩷🩷

Daisy Update from the Gurney Family -
You’ll be happy to know Daisy is settling in wonderfully and really showing us her personality now. She loves the kids (and often chases them to wrestle) and goes crazy at feed times. She is sitting really well when asked now.

She has settled well in her outdoor pen for day naps but sleeps in the laundry at night as we are still have -6 frosts here, we do not want a frozen puppy! But beautiful 20 degree days! She sleeps through the night we do not even hear her and uses the puppy pads perfectly, not a single accident yet!

Update-
Roo is now safely home with her family. We found out not only was Roo’s microchip not transferred but she was also rehomed early this year. I was able to get the new owners details and make contact with her. I assisted her with the microchip transfer so Roo will be safe should she find herself lost again.

I know I’m not alone when I say how heartbreaking it would be if one of my dogs went missing and there was no way of tracking her. The invention of microchipping has definitely helped the process of getting lost pets back to their owners. When I first started breeding until mid last year I had to rely on new owners to complete the transfer process and in some cases it never happened. This morning I received a phone call from North Lakes Pet Emergency Clinic informing me of a lost Speagle in their care. She is not injured thankfully. Unfortunately as her microchip hasn’t been transferred the call has come through to me. I was able to go through my records and make a match. I was able to pass on the details to the vet and hopefully they have better luck contacting the owners than I did. It is really important to check that the microchip details are correct and updated if you move too.

We are totally thrilled to announce that all of our beautiful puppies have now found their forever homes. Daisy - NSW, Sylvie - QLD and Maurice - WA.
This is how they look at me when I tell them it is time to wake up and go to the toilet. Whoops we had one accident but they are doing really well for 6 week old puppies.

6 weeks of fabulous fun with these three. Growing bigger and finding more mischief everyday. Happy spring and Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful Dads out there.

Today the puppies went for their first car trip to the vet. Dr Sandy gave them all a clear health check, their first vaccination and microchip. We are happy that the puppies are all doing very well. It won’t be long now for our excited families to welcome their new puppy into their home.

And just like that 5 weeks have passed me by. After a scale malfunction I had to re weigh the puppies and wow they are super cuddly now.

I am having lots of inquiries about our available puppies. I thought I would share some information here to help me out with time management.
The available puppies are both 4 weeks old and siblings from Nat (Beagle) x Albie (Cocker Spaniel)
Both parents are well natured dogs, kind, affectionate good with Kids and other animals. Nat is a typical hungry beagle so food driven always. Albie was hand raised so is very comforted by human companionship although just as comfortable with his kennel mates. He is a gentleman with the ladies and never any trouble mixing with the other male dogs.
Maurice is very similar in personality to Albie. He seems to sensitive and will be very cuddly. Sylvie is confident and strong being the biggest of the litter. She handles change very well and we be an independent girl. They are growing and changing everyday. I am looking forward to sharing their puppy milestones with you all over the coming weeks.
Both are $1500
At six weeks they Will be vet checked, first vaccination and microchipped, they have been wormed and Heartworm treated from 2 weeks and will continue on a fornightly schedule. They will well socialised with other dogs and chooks here on the farm. Socialised and well handled by children and adults. They will be crate, collar and lead conditioned. Early toilet training will be commenced. Puppies will be weaned at 6 weeks to ensure a smooth transition to new homes. Raised on quality food. Puppy pack will accompany each puppy. Darby’s Deelicious Dog biscuit recipe
1 cup oat flour
2 bananas, mashed
½ cup peanut butter
Mix ingredients into a dough.
Roll out dough.
Use biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits.
Place on baking paper on tray.
Cook 25-30 minutes at 150c
