Meena the Manx is still looking for her forever home! This is a compact cat. She’s small and round. She has no tail at all, but thankfully she doesn’t have any issues that come with being a Manx that we’ve been able to see over the past year or so. Meena is a sweet little girl and would love to find the perfect home for herself.
Her ideal home is one where she can either be the queen bee or with 1-2 other cats that know how to give her some space. She loves to play with catnip toys and loves to be loved on. She enjoys spending time using her favorite scratching pads and cuddling up on the warming pads we have!
Please note that due to the holidays, responses to adoption inquiries may be delayed slightly.
She is spayed, vaccinated, felv/fiv negative, microchipped, and routinely dewormed.

Located in lake city Florida! Transport or partial transport may be available for approved adopters.
We can’t take the van distances, but we do have a friend who may be able to help aid in gettin kiddos to their new homes!

We have several cats coming back to us before the end of the year. All cats that have been placed in their homes for 1-2 years. They’re now adults and will be extremely hard to place because of that. Truly it’s making me feel like what is even the point? Why keep adopting them out just to have them returned? It’s driving me a little insane, but we will ALWAYS take our cats back vs someone rehoming them or sending them to a shelter.

Around this time of year, we get multiple people that reach out to us to surrender their cats BACK to our rescue..

When you adopt an animal it’s a life time commitment.
Through the bad, ugly, the tough, all the behavioral AND medical concerns / issues.
There are steps to take, to address changes in your pets behavior.
Surrendering should NOT be your first thought.
If you need help financially, when your pet is having issues, we are more than happy to help our adopters, so the pet can stay in their home.

But surrendering your pet BACK to us, when the concerns can easily be addressed and handled by a vet, is CRAZY.

I have a personal cat that attacks my husband and I multiple times a week.
I’ve had my personal cats inappropriately urinate around my home.
I’ve had behavioral concerns w my personal dog.

And w EVERY concern I’ve had, they were brought to the vet, and concerns were addressed..
Or we had a trainer come into our home.
I’ve NEVER considered surrendering ANY of my personal animals- and we’ve been through some s**t w them.

Adopting a pet is a life time commitment.

Not a “ until it gets tough and I can’t deal with it anymore “ commitment.
I don’t want anyone to be scared to reach out to us to surrender.
In some circumstances, surrendering back to us is warranted.
But we’ve had THREE SEPARATE PAST ADOPTERS
Reach out in the last month to surrender there cat,for dumb reasons, that can easily be corrected.
One adopter whom we are currently helping address these issues ON OUR DIME.

When your child misbehaves you don’t drop them off at CPS right?
So what’s the difference in adopting a pet?

This is just a PSA: I’m fed up.
This is the part of rescue I HATE.
And the part of rescue I despise.
Do better by your pet. Cuz I’m DONE w these animals being failed.

Caught Chicken taking a nap in the soup bowl.
We’re going to have to retire some of our cat trees here soon as they’re starting to fall apart already!
We have extras, thankfully so we don’t need any more but goodness they just look so cute cuddled up in them!

As the year 2024 comes to an end, we would love to highlight some things we’ve done this year! This year we did intake on 36 cats!
That is 36 lives you all have helped us improve!
We adopted out 30 cats and have 3 pending adoptions currently that should hopefully be finalized before the end of the year!
We had 2 cats returned and have 2 more coming back to us before the end of the year. Unfortunately, sometimes homes just don’t work out. We always aim to place kitties in the best possible home and sometimes it works out for awhile then things change and that’s okay. We will always take back our cats no matter what!
We got moved into our new property (finally) and away from our neighbor who made our life living hell! We have 5x the acreage now!
We paid off the main cat shack! That’s HUGE!

What are our goals for next year at this time?
Next year our biggest goal will be getting all 30 adoptable cats/kittens adopted out into great homes and the 7 adoptable dogs either placed into loving homes or placed with other rescues who are willing to lend a hand.
We likely will be saying goodbye to our beloved Beans and Piggy next year, as their aggression has gotten more extreme and they’re starting to become dangerous for me and Alex.
Our intakes will be kept to a minimum until ALL of our adoptable cats and kittens are placed.
With that being said, once all of them have found loving homes, we will still only keep a handful of adoptable cats at the rescue at a time. This will help ease the load on me and Alex and also on our sanctuary crew!
We will no longer be intaking dogs, under any circumstances. Our sanctuary dogs need to come first.
If there are any dog rescues who happen to see this that have room, we have 7 amazing dogs that we could really use a hand with!
We would love to do a LOT more tnr work next year. This year has been a bit too chaotic to accomplish much in that area. Next year we’re hoping for smoother.
We’ve accomplished a lot this year, and we’re hoping for an even more amazing year next year! We couldn’t do what we do without your help. You guys seriously keep us going.
Thank you for your continued support and love. We have an amazing community and I couldn’t be more thankful for you guys!

The dogs have this little (big) hole they’ve been digging for a hot minute, specifically the hounds group. Today I looked down and noticed that they’ve dug so much they’ve also exposed the hole from the top. Here’s a photo of Onion down in the hole earlier today.
Don’t worry, it doesn’t lead anywhere and they’re always monitored while digging.
She loves to dig and pull out roots with her mouth!

Armadillo and Opossum update:
They’re both doing great! They have their energy back, they’re eating a TON, taking their meds (not happy about that part), and they’re starting to play again! Armadillo is on day 13 of her FIP treatment and is doing fabulous! She hates when it’s medicine time but she lets me do it which is what matters.
Thank you again to everyone who donated and interacted to help us get these guys the help they needed. We still have some fundraising to do but maybe we’ll host a 50/50 this month for that.
Who knows. We’ll see what happens❤️

Cheese needs and new foster or a special needs rescue. This is an immediate need and his current foster family has done an AMAZING job raising this beautiful kitten! Due to his medical condition, he can leave poo around. His foster family has been so completely wonderful about rolling with the punches since day 1 (when we found out AFTER picking him up that he has spinabifida). To say that they have risen to the challenge is an understatement! There are be circumstances beyond their control and they must refoster him.

And that's OK! In fact... it's better than OK. It's part of his journey and we are so glad we have been a part of that. We absolutely adore his foster mom and dad. They are special people and we want to meet the need for refostering as soon as possible. We know that they would gladly counsel a new foster on Cheese needs and care. We are, honestly, praying for a special needs rescue to get involved. This sweet kitten has manx syndrome and that will.effect him for the rest of his life. It effects his ambulation as well as his #1 and #2 functions. He is incontinent in the sense that he can't hold it. Fortunately he doesn't require bladder expression but he does benefit from diapers.

Please consider helping Cheese in his path by spreading his need and networking form him! He is Cheney currently fostered in Ocala FL through our organization. Text Aspen at 352-843-6858 if you can help with placement or foster. TYIA

Mochi and I had a great time at Disney! So did my sister and the kiddos! Now I’m back home and snapped back to reality. Unfortunately, the van is having some issues all of the sudden. I’m hoping putting transmission fluid in it does the trick, we’ll know tomorrow when it gets here. Hopefully it’s that simple because we obviously can’t be without a vehicle. We probably should’ve saved up and gotten a better vehicle but with Armadillo getting sick we kinda had to get what we could get and hope for the best. On top of that, we’re flat broke until PayPal giving fund releases giving Tuesday money which may not be until next month on the 15th. We still owe $595 at SV and we need to pick up a few things for the cats like an anti fungal cream (on our wishlist) as Motz randomly has a spot of ringworm. He’s in isolation and all of the cat are being monitored as well.
To those who have helped us in the past couple of weeks, you freaking rock and I love you.
We had to buy no dig fencing to put in the fluffs area in hopes that that will keep them from escaping again and added some extra panels of kenneling we had down in their as well to deter them from digging.
I hate to come home and complain complain complain but it’s just our reality right now, and it’s kinda sucky, and it’s really annoying.
Please send good vibes. We really need them!

First night home update on Opossum and Armadillo!
They’re both eating beautifully hard and soft food (eating a TON of kitten wet food!!)
They’re still on two antibiotics and then armadillo is on her fip meds as well.
Their clindamycin is 2x per day and their azithromycin is down to every 3rd day!
Hopefully after the azithromycin we can get Opossum in for his snipsnip. He’s not started trying anything but we don’t want it to get to that point either. Miss Armadillo will not be spayed until after her FIP treatment and observation period.
They’re no longer self mutilating after they got their flea meds administered two days ago! Woohoo!
Overall they seem to be doing very well!
We are thrilled. I’m so in awe of them.
I’m absolutely in love with these little freaks!
They’re still very wobbly. Miss Armadillo is really showing her wobbles more now that she’s feeling better. Opossum isn’t as bad but he still has his wobble too.
Thank you again to everyone who has made getting these two through whatever the hell was going on, possible. We couldn’t do this without everyone’s help! Seriously!!!
Ps, they’re VERY happy beinb back together finally!
