They say that in ancient times, the fiercest warriors were the Scythian girls with their bows and arrows, mounted on small, swift ponies. These may even be the inspiration behind the mythical Amazon warriors.
Today, a girl practicing mounted archery is perhaps just as inspiring!
We’ve had the best summer introducing children to the very wide world of horses — we vaulted, we jousted, we explored the west, and this past Sunday we learned about equestrian archery.
While our summer series is over, we look forward to expanding these explorations and more — for children AND adults (because aren’t we all just here to have adventures with our horses??). Send us a message if you’d like to learn more!

The only thing that gets me out of bed early enough to “do something before work”!! I’m so delighted with our wonderful little herd. We don’t have lesson horses per se, because they are all living their best lives doing all sorts of things with us — trail riding being perhaps my favorite. So lucky to live in a horsey area with access to this kind of riding!!

We had such a blast at our inaugural Summer Sundays program!! A wonderful group of kiddos ran away to join the circus with us, learning about equestrian vaulting on our patient wonderhorse Russet ❤️

We have one spot remaining for our upcoming Summer Sunday program on July 14th - do you want to Run Away with the Circus? Come learn the art of vaulting and develop your balance and acrobatics on horseback!
Our Summer Sundays programs are for children ages 6-11. Each day will run from 9am to 3pm, and include fun educational activities, hands-on horsemanship, barn chores, and, of course, a themed riding activity for the main event.
Our later dates are: July 14th (Medieval Tournament,) July 28th (Pioneer Trails,) and August 14th (Mounted Archery.)

Come run away to join the circus with us on Sunday, July 14!!! We still have a few spots open for kiddos to immerse with horses for the day and learn the fundamentals of Vaulting. There’s no better (or more fun!!) way to develop confidence and an amazing seat.
Some of the vaulting poses here demonstrated by and , who will be our amazing instructors!! And all credit of course to the incomparable Russet, who somehow managed to catch a quick nap while all this was going on right on her back.

Last Saturday marked the first Hunter Pace of the season for Lune Hollow Farm! Thank you to for putting on such a wonderful event - we are patiently waiting for the next 🤩. Russet, as always, was an angel - while Tennyson was a star - showing us yet again that he can do it all! Thankful for these two unicorns 🦄

Hello from the Hollow!
Tyler here, excited as can be to announce my new role here as the Farm Manager/Rider/Instructor.
I have over 18 years of experience in the Equitation/Hunter/Jumper worlds, but am delighted to broaden my horizons as I continue to learn more about the Western, Dressage, and Horsemanship fundamentals.
I believe that becoming a great rider means becoming a great horseman, which requires work, connection, and bonding both on and off the horse. I cannot wait to teach students of all levels and disciplines, and watch each rider grow relationships with the special horses we have here.

So grateful to live on the trails!! Today couldn’t have been more beautiful — and can you tell whose elegant tail that is in front?! Yes, none other than our resident poet, the dressage prince Tennyson, who just might be a trail riding superstar! He crossed roads and water, climbed over logs and stone walls, and even held it together when enthusiastic kiddos came running over to say hello 🤩.

We had a casual session with simple goals: give him space to move and make his own choices, then engage his attention to begin teaching come when called. He did wonderfully!
Eleven is such a character — one of the cuter things he chose to do was take himself over trotting poles almost every time he passed by them. We were working in the whole arena and there was plenty of room to go around if he wanted — but he thought they were fun 🤣.

Over the hills and through the woods! Can’t stop thinking about the beautiful trails and roads through southern Vermont last weekend. So much gratitude to for these events existing!
Also, Gus and Russet like shadow and fire — shadows don’t show up so well in photos 🥷🏻! Anyone have advice on photographing dark horses so we can do justice to Gus next time?!
