Come and say g'day, we will be at the Pet festival tomorrow in Caravonica. Our youngest will be selling her lemonade, pupcakes (all natural for doggies) and these cute little fellas for humans. Come and meet George the border collie and enter a competition to win a basket of dog goodies as well as a free day of doggy daycare.

Aww a dog lover like his gran.

Same Harry, same. Prince Harry shared a moment of mourning with a loving Labrador pup as he and his wife Meghan Markle walked among the well-wishing crowds in Windsor. They both provided and gained solace to and from those lining the streets, with Harry and a well-behaved pooch called Louis taking comfort from each other during a tender embrace between man and dog. ❤

Calling all dog lovers!

Cairns is set to host the best dog festival the region has ever seen.

FNQ Dogs Day Out Festival will be held on Saturday 15 October, 2022 at Barron Waters / Burrawungal Park, Caravonica.

A celebration of man’s best friend, and an exhibition of the best products, services and entertainment for all those who love pets and animals. Also a great chance to buy some early Christmas presents from a variety of stalls.

With a program of performances, this is a daytime event and includes education on responsible dog and pet ownership and adoption, as well as agility demonstrations, training demonstrations and other fun activities.

There will be stalls with pet related information and products, local food vans and arts and craft market stalls, a RED BERET sponsored licensed bar run by the Lions Club of Marlin Coast, live entertainment, kids jumping castles and other activities.

Talk to the Council Pet Management Department, canine experts, get the latest information and advice, FREE samples, and purchase goods at festival only specials from our exhibitors. It's a great opportunity also to support local animal welfare charities and rescue services.

Whether you have a fur baby, are considering it, or just simply love all creatures great and small (and cute and fluffy!) this fabulous family event is for you!

Festival of the k**b at Yorkeys k**b last week saw George dressed in a ballet skirt in the dog dress up competition.

Popular day trips from Cairns include the islands (Green or Fitzroy) 45 mins on the ferry. There is also the Frankland islands tour from Deeral. And of course the reef trip to the pontoon 1.5 hrs each way, lovely buffet lunch.
Also popular is the Kuranda train and sky rail day trip from Freswater/Smithfield. Kuranda has markets and butterfly world as well as bird world.
As a local I can recommend some hikes such as Glacier rock perched above the caravan park. Dogs are not allowed its NP. Below that is Stony creek with some nice swimming holes. Crystal cascades also has swimming.
Or just take time to have a break from pooch and a nice dinner or shopping.

Its getting hot in far north Queensland. We provide plenty of water, a chance to cool off in the creek or lake and house trained dogs are welcome inside.

Don't trust your pooch to just anyone. We provide updates in the day with pics if wanted. Your dog will get a walk and plenty of attention. House trained pets are allowed inside and become part of the family for the day. A wagging tail when they see your pet sitter is a sign everything is ok.
