It was a week of “I’ll see you soon” and “I’m glad to have you home” around the farm.

We were equally sad and excited to say goodbye to Christine and Charlie as he makes the move to be closer to her and spend more time together. He has become quite the little horse over the last year that he was here with us and I can’t wait to see the two of them out in the show ring this year. Gonna miss you guys!

And we are equally bursting with excitement to have Georgia home! I’ve had this horse and her kid in my program for many years but haven’t cared for her at my personal barn since the very first farm I trained at. As Miriah is getting ready to head off to school, all the stars aligned for her to come and join my lesson program. Welcome home Georgia, I’ve missed you my diva queen.

How it started vs. how it’s going.

Both of these “kiddos” were some of my first students at the first barn that I was hired to be the “main” trainer. Now one is about to have their license and the other starting College in the fall. Crazy how time flies, grateful to still be a piece of their riding journey…. no matter how far we are in distance.

Finally got the chance to try out my sponsored new custom Albion Saddlemakers Co. Ltd that was fit to Mia Dolce Chimes. I absolutely love it, fits her so well and is honestly the most comfortable saddle I’ve ever sat in. Very excited to ride and compete in it this season.

Congratulations to Clara on her very first horse. Very excited to watch them grow together and can’t wait to hear what she decides to name her. Such a sweet mare and a very deserving kiddo.

This may look like your average first pony ride introduction, except this is our Charlie boy and his Noa. Charlie was a feed lot pull and had some unpredictable behaviors on the ground and under saddle. We made the decision to restart him from the ground up last year and here he is now taking care of one his mommas girls after an awesome lesson with Christine over fences. I can’t even describe the feeling I have watching him exceed every expectation we had of him. Watch out leadline 2024, Charlie’s Version and Noa are coming for ya!

We made the decision at 7am to try and make the BHSA classic, she had a 2 Hour trailer drive and I had lessons in the morning. It was tight but we made it happen and had an amazing day. Forever proud of her dedication, love for her mare and her independent spirit.

We had yet another amazing weekend showing at our favorite place Gray Horse Farm. This weekend was all about new things. Saturday was the jumpers, we took Charlie’s Version to his very first show and Mia Dolce Chimes stepped back into the ring after two years away and did phenomenal thanks to Hannah for pioliting her in a large division (Mia’s first time in the jumpers). Charlie acted like an old pro, even came home with a blue. His journey from the feed lot to the show ring has been long and challenging but every step well worth it. Christine has shown a ridiculous amount of dedication and patience to get him here. Sundays are for the hunters! Jade (She’s all ears) stepped up to the 2’6 pony equitation for the first time with Grace Stitzer. Not only did they win the eq over fences, it was only her third show ever! Hannah Mau also stepped up to the 2’6 equitation for the first time and did absolutely phenomenal. Addie after just one lesson on Grace Under Fire was able to pull off her first clean sweep in student equitation. Haley Stitzer and Monstarsinmyhead won their eq flat and one of their o/f. Not to mention the girls played musical horses all weekend. I take pride in watching them adjust their riding to each horse to be the most effective and supportive rider possible to all of their mounts. I’m always proud of my girls but watching them lend a hand or horse to a fellow teammate without being asked makes my heart so full. Forever grateful for this team, these girls, these horses and every single one of our supporters who go far out of their way to make this happen.

Another great jumper show in the books at Summerduck. Always proud of these girls and completely astonished by the support and love from our other team members who come to support.
This is also the first show that not one but two of my girls hauled all on their own. These strong independent girls fill me with so much pride.

What a great way to kick off the season on Easter. Congratulations to our Miriah and her Talk of the town. A big thanks to Brenna at Double B Equestrian for training and taking them in, not to mention opening her farm to me so I can still train these two when my schedule allows. As always thanks to one of our very special team members Cams.Photos. She travels to many shows with us just to capture these beautiful photos and provides non stop entertainment for our show days. It truly takes a village and we’ve got a great one!

Proudly offering Dream Girl, a flashy 9 y/o medium POA for S or L to the perfect home. She’s been brought along and shown by her teenager for the last year and is ready to move into the Pony Hunter with her next kid. A very successful first show year in the local Green Pony, finishing 3rd in VHSA and Reserve Champion in BHSA for the 2022 season. This pony loves to jump, is always in perfect form, has plenty of scope and never looks at anything. She’s won countless over fences including one of her Green Pony rounds in Lexington at 2022 VHSA finals (first time she’s been). Consistently going w/t/c, jumping 2’3” (and higher at home), cute little mover, and is finishing her changes. Has never offered to rear, buck or bolt and doesn’t look at anything on any show ground she’s ever been to. She does have her own engine if not ridden consistently but doesn’t do anything bad, just rides more forward. Her only vice is she can be a hard catch at times but lives out and has not had much work on this. We’ve shown her in the Hunters, Equitation, Combined Tests and a Pony Derby; has potential to do some higher stuff in the Jumpers. Not quite ready to teach a kid how to trot, but would make a super competitive pony mount for a kid looking to move up over fences. Asking in the low five figures; please serious inquiries only.

I want to make a special congratulations to our rider Hannah May Winton on receiving her stethoscope in the ceremony this morning for her nursing program at Randolph Macon. She also made the Dean list. We are always super proud and enjoy getting to cheer her on with all of her achievements inside and out of the ring.

A big welcome to our newest Watermark Farm boarders, Charlie and Christine. They’ve been apart of our riding team for a while now but we had a rare temporary training spot open up so we are beyond happy to have them with us.
He has already settled in nicely and as you can see, the boys in his field are obsessed. They think they’ve been gifted a pony.
