So much fun doing this little piece....

Never thought I would draw a kangaroo but I guess fur is fur! 😂

Particularly like to dramatic shadows which really help make the colours and textures pop on this piece.

Learnt lots on this new surface again...still not taken over for me from Pastlemat but great to have one to have as a back up.

Lovely day spent drawing this little birdie.

Learning new techniques, on a surface I haven't used before and my first ever bird! 🐦

Finally finished this epic drawing....began a year ago but an injury and my day job had kept me away from the drawing table.
I do love a black lab on classic white, it really makes all those hidden colours pop!

Drawn/ inspired from a photo I purchased from Alamy a while ago but bits changed!

Lovely memory today.....now 3 years old!
I absolutely love drawing horses, would really love some more on my drawing board this year.

Time for a memory today, this one is now 3 years old!
This is Flake, my lab and the cover girl for my social media sites....does the fooled by the sweet face....she is very cheeky and loves to steal garlic bread straight from the oven! 😂

Really pleased with how this piece is coming together. The light on these two lovely dogs is creating some gorgeous colours in their coats and those eyes are just stunning!.

All day drawing the neck and its still not finished! 😆
This is why portraits take so long....lots and lots of layers....
But the end result is so worth it.

Productive couple of hours on this piece this afternoon, trying to relax after what seems like never ending exam prep! 🙄🤯

Unfortunately this is a particularly grainy piece of pastlemat so is taking forever to smooth and is needing several layers of pencil.
But as ever, trusting the process and trying to be patient 😀

Daphne and Dudley 🩷💙
These gorgeous labradors were drawn as a birthday suprise that has now been gifted.
I had some stunning photos to choose from for these two very much loved dogs, so it was quite hard to pick.
Their fur has so many different colours in...not what you would expect so many different pencils used, and the grey background really suited them.
Lots of fun! 😄

I started this piece way back in August...unfortunately an injury then stopped me drawing for quite a while so have only just picked this one back up again.
Still a long way to go with the first labrador, before moving on to second dog and the truck they are in! Exciting...

Little WIP update....working towards the nose of the first black lab in the double portrait. 🐶🐶
So many colours in this piece apart from black!
Still have lots to do but I think it will be a lovely piece when it's done 🥰

It's not often I will start a piece again....however the pastlemat I was working on was so grainy it was just becoming unbearable.
So we go again!
This time I can reallyfeel the difference and its a joy to work on, not like trying to draw on a brick!🤣
