The Story Behind Grace’s Great Danes

Our daughter Leah Grace was born with a heart defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). In short, by age 3 she had three life saving procedures. By age 8 it was determined Leah would need a heart transplant. She fought hard and hung on until she received her gift of life. After several set backs and close to a year in the hospital she was able to go home with her family at our new home. While home for the 8 short days we bought her a Great Dane puppy named Nora. Leah wanted her puppy to grow up and to have puppies of her own. Leah was soon admitted back to the hospital with rejection to her transplant. She fought hard for the next 6 months before gaining her wings. We started Grace’s Great Danes to honor her and the promise that we made to her. Thank you for all of the love and support.
